Amazon Games recently released MMORPG New World and it has since gained a significant player base and high praise. New World players are continuing to discover details about the MMO, including one trick that gives players a "portrait-esque" view of their character.

Reddit user Tr1age recently posted an impressive portrait of their New World character and included a breakdown of how they were able to create the screenshot. According to Tr1age, New World players can emulate this portrait by viewing their characters with the TAB button and hiding the user interface with Alt-H. These changes properly adjust the depth of field in order to perfectly capture any New World character and the various environments of Aeternum.

Tr1age's portrait of their character focuses on the knight and its armor set that blends together from neck to toe, with a shining helmet completing the aesthetic. In addition to a shiny cutlass hanging on the character's hip is a two-handed weapon of some sort and a kite shield. Tr1age's character is standing in one of the many wooded areas in New World that are covered in shrubs and colorful flowers.

New World players that hold the Alt key while performing this portrait trick will be able to choose their own camera angle in order to further optimize the screenshot of their characters and the environment around them. This will allow them to create portraits from multiple angles in order to get the best screenshot. The blur effect produced using this secret in New World is caused by the altered depth of field, which is created by going into the character's inventory.

According to another New World fan, this trick isn't just good for treating impressive portraits of their characters, it can be used to escape one of the MMO's glaring issues. New World players will apparently be able to escape the black screen that's created by using corrupted portals by using this UI trick as well. This will allow New World fans to avoid a bit of frustration while traversing New World's setting of Aeternum.

Because Amazon Games has yet to bring a photo mode to New World, this portrait-esque trick may be the closest thing players can get in the meantime. Several New World players have praised the impressive graphics and art design of the MMORPG and they may be looking for a way to perfectly capture their characters in a screenshot like Tr1age's. The quality of each screenshot is likely dependant on how good the New World player's PC build is, but this trick is already creating desktop background-quality images.

Since its release, New World has remained one of the most played titles on Steam and one of the highest viewed games on Twitch. With how popular the new MMORPG is, players are discovering issues with New World on top of neat tricks like Tr1age's portrait one. New World has caused some CPU and power supply issues among a few bugs and glitches that also persist in the game.

New World is available right now for PC.
