Amazon Games recently released New World and tons of MMO fans flocked to the game to explore the beautiful world of Aeternum. Since then, several players have discovered some issues with New World, including a distinct lack of crafting materials.
Several New World fans have already experienced the lack of high-level crafting materials spawning anywhere in New World, but Reddit user TentraTint has compiled a list of evidence to prove that it isn't simply RNG. Just like in other games with crafting, the crafting system of New World requires multiple components in order to create certain pieces of level-capped gear. Many New World players are able to collect some items required for crafting, while others are seemingly not in the game at all.
High-tier New World weapons such as Axe of the Abyss and Glacial Rage gauntlets require crafting materials that several players are reporting aren't in the game. TentraTint pointed out three New World forum posts of players encountering the same issue, with two specifically reporting their problems to Amazon Games. Although Amazon Games has been tipped off to this issue multiple times, New World still seems to be missing the crafting materials.
New World crafting requires players to level certain skills in order to gain access to high-tier craftable weapons and armor. While the lower tier gear is easily craftable with the materials included in New World right now, high-level players are missing materials such as Embossed Wrapping, Enchanted Bow String, Life Crystal Core, and Ice Crystal Core. These items are said to drop from creatures level 45 and over, but New World fans who have dedicated countless hours to killing the specific creatures beg to differ.
A player known as Tabbo in New World is one of many reporting their issue to Amazon Games, stating that the Broken Hatchet Artifact and Petrified Fire are easy to find in-game, but that no amount of searching produces an Embossed Wrapping. A New World player called NoTouch specified that Fire Crystal Core and Life Crystal Core are easily accessible, but that Ice Crystal Cores don't drop and cannot be found in the market.
Players are reporting the lack of crafting materials as a bug, but it may be something that's excluded until a future date or a new location is revealed. Regardless of what legendary item New World players are trying to craft, they'll eventually hit a wall that prevents them from crafting the item that they want. It's currently unclear when Amazon Games will fix this loot table issue now that the developers have been notified.
