Every MMORPG has special currencies that are needed for certain mechanics, though some are annoyingly difficult to come by through average means. In New World, players will almost always be on the lookout for vials of magical blue liquid called Azoth, as it is needed for a few important features of this title.

While the biggest reasons in New World to save Azoth are to reset one's weapon talents and enhance one's crafting, it is undeniable that the biggest drain on one's Azoth stockpile will be fast-traveling, for it is impossible to make these teleporting leaps without this mystical cerulean fluid. Players who do not wish to constantly walk across the vast in-game continent will need to determine the methods of obtaining more Azoth.

Updated on October 30, 2021, by Reyadh Rahaman: Azoth is a very versatile substance that gets stuffed into almost anything that can be improved magically. As such, the term will appear on many different materials that will be used for many different refining and crafting pursuits.

As such, it can be useful to have a list of such goods in other to keep track of which Azoth goods do what. It should be mentioned that Azoth tends to find itself most into the names of items due to the product being related to alchemy or crafting in some way.

The Best Ways To Get Azoth

player doing quests, fighting, clearing corruption points, and harvesting to get azoth.

Currently, there are only 4 ways to obtain Azoth in the game, though they can all be used in conjunction to maximize how much of it one can get.

Getting Azoth From Quests

Azoth will start appearing in quest rewards at level 15 as one's character grows, and, for higher-level quests, the Azoth rewards will be greater.

Getting Azoth From Defeated Enemies

At around level 20, enemies will begin to drop Azoth, and, like with quests, higher-level foes will grant more Azoth upon being defeated. This is the optimal method of farming Azoth while also gaining valuable skill experience and other potential loot.

Getting Azoth From Corruption Points

These dark and dank zones of fell fiends yield a fair bit of Azoth when they are cleared out, however, they are all set to specific levels, so be sure to only go into one of a similar level to one's character or gather some friends before beginning the assault.

Getting Azoth From Harvesting

The most passive and arguably the most efficient method of gaining Azoth is to use special tools. The tools that one uses for harvestings, such as the Sickle, Logging Axe, and more, can be buffed with permanent traits that grant set percentage chances of gaining 1 Azoth every time material is collected with those tools.

This buff can be found on preexisting tools that can be bought at a Trade Post or be inserted into a tool that one is crafting themselves if they have a high enough Engineering skill and the right resources.

How To Use Azoth

There are 3 dominant mechanics where Azoth will be needed, however, players don't necessarily ever need to use this blue fluid as it is more of a bonus component for the areas of gameplay where it's implemented.

Using Azoth To Enhance Gear

When crafting armor and weapons, players can include some Azoth into the regular crafting recipe for increased chances to gain better attributes, more perks, as well as more gem slots. Higher-tier materials and recipes will let players insert more Azoth for even greater boons.

Using Azoth To Reset Weapon Talents

If players are not happy with their current combat setup, they can use Azoth to reset their weapon talents and specialize in different kinds of tactics that will hopefully suit their needs better.

Using Azoth For Fast Travel

Without mounts or vehicles, traveling around New World will be done mostly on foot, which can be time-consuming, however, fast travel does exist in this game, albeit at a cost. Players can teleport to different parts of the continent by spending Azoth in the map menu when looking at a location, though, the further the destination, the greater the amount of Azoth that needs to be spent.
