Amazon Game Studios' New World is going through a bit of a rough patch at the moment, considering that some players are not happy with the state of the game due to all the glitches and exploits there have been since launch. One of the most notorious and game-breaking glitches to date consists of duplicating Gold and Legendary materials, which has been breaking the economy for the past month.
This is mainly due to the fact that Gold became inherently less valuable to some players, and some materials were being put up for sale more than players would buy them. As such, prices on pretty much everything lowered, and New World players who weren't exploiting the glitch ended up getting the short end of the stick.
However, now that Amazon became aware of what was going on, it decided to take action by disabling all forms of wealth transfer between players in order to prevent further issues. This means that the Trading Posts are currently inaccessible, or rather, New World players can only browse the goods without putting anything up for sale or being able to buy anything. The same holds true for one-on-one trades between players, effectively blocking all forms of trade. However, some players are not happy with the decision because trading is a big part of the game, and there is no ETA for when things will go back to normal.
Furthermore, Amazon is also issuing permanent bans against all players who cheated in the past month by purposefully duping Gold or Legendary materials for profit. This zero-tolerance policy is actually a very good thing for New World, as it shows that Amazon will enforce more bans for equally severe exploits in the future, once the dust settles. Of course, Faction Wars are still a major issue, but there is hope.
Luckily, some players are still enjoying the game to the fullest by showing creative ways to reach level 60, like jumping off a cliff with a Hatchet skill to kill a turkey. Despite some doomsayers, New World is very much alive and kicking, and Amazon's attitude towards fixing glitches and handing out bans is likely to make things better over the next few months.
