November is traditionally the biggest month for new game releases every year, and November 2022 is no exception to that rule. While the full scope of what November has in store has yet to be revealed, the month is already stacked based on what's been announced so far, with gamers able to look forward to brand-new, triple-A releases, remaster of a classic tactical RPG, notable indies, and more.
The big new game releases for November 2022 will kick off with Harvestella on November 4. Harvestella is perhaps best described as a marriage between farming simulation games like Harvest Moon and fantasy RPGs like Final Fantasy. In Harvestella, players will be able to farm crops, interact with their neighbors, fish, cook, and more, but they will also be able to participate in more traditional RPG battles, which should give it an edge that other life simulation games don't have. Harvestella will be available for PC and Switch when it launches on November 4.
Then on November 8, gamers can look forward to the launch of two triple-A games on the very same day. November 8 will see the launches of both Skull and Bones from Ubisoft and Sonic Frontiers from Sega, two titles that find themselves in somewhat of the same boat. It's clear from the reactions online that fans are skeptical of both Skull and Bones and Sonic Frontiers, so it will definitely be interesting to see if the games defy expectations or if they end up being disappointments.

Both Skull and Bones and Sonic Frontiers are open world games, but they should provide very different experiences. Skull and Bones is an open world pirate game focused almost exclusively on naval exploration and combat. Merely a day after Skull and Bones and Sonic Frontiers launch is the day that God of War Ragnarok releases to the masses. Easily one of the most highly-anticipated new game releases of the entire year, God of War Ragnarok is set to bring Kratos' Norse mythology adventure to an end. Set to launch for both PS4 and PS5 as a cross-gen game, God of War Ragnarok is nevertheless a graphics showcase, and it looks to deliver the same kind of gripping story that was present in the 2018 GoW game. God of War Ragnarok is Sony's big holiday 2022 release, and chances are it will be remembered as one of 2022's best games when it's all said and done.
November 2022's momentum doesn't stop with God of War Ragnarok, as two days later fans can play Tactics Ogre: Reborn on PC, PS4, PS5, and Switch. Tactics Ogre: Reborn is a tactical RPG and a remastered version of the 2010 PSP game Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together, itself a remake of a 1995 game. The previous versions of Tactics Ogre received rave reviews when they originally released, and there's no reason to think that this new version will be any different when it launches on November 11, especially since it will be enhancing the gameplay, graphics, audio, and more.
The following week in November will be another big one for the gaming industry. On November 15, gamers can check out Pentiment, the latest project from Obsidian Entertainment. Pentiment is a narrative-driven RPG where players have to solve a murder, though the twist is that the game never confirms with certainty exactly who committed the crime. Instead, players have to accuse one of the game's characters of the murder without ever truly knowing if they made the right call. It sounds like an intriguing premise on paper, and those playing on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X will get to see how it all turns out. Since Obsidian Entertainment is owned by Microsoft, Pentiment will also be a day one Xbox Game Pass game, so fans should keep that in mind.
November 17 is set to be another big day for gaming, as that day will see the launches of both Company of Heroes 3 and Goat Simulator 3. Company of Heroes 3 is a real-time strategy game and the latest installment in the Company of Heroes franchise, which hasn't seen a new main series release in nearly a decade. Goat Simulator 3 is the sequel to Goat Simulator (the developers are skipping Goat Simulator 2 as a joke), and like its predecessor, it will focus on players committing absolute chaos as a goat. Company of Heroes 3 is going to be a PC-only release, whereas Goat Simulator 3 is launching for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X.
November 18 is going to be an even busier day for gaming, as that's the day that The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me launches alongside the highly-anticipated Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. If God of War Ragnarok is not the most-anticipated new game release of 2022, then it has to be Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will be open world experiences, incorporating 4-player co-op, new gameplay gimmicks, and potentially over 100 new Pokemon when they launch exclusively for the Switch later this year. The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me, meanwhile, is the final release for the "first season" of Supermassive Games' Dark Pictures anthology series, capping off a strong year for the studio that already saw the release of The Quarry. The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me will launch for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
And finally, Evil West is launching November 22 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X, with Warhammer 40,000: Darktide launching November 30 for PC. Evil West is a third-person shooter about a vampire hunter living in the wild west. It's been compared to Darkwatch, though the jury is still out on whether it will live up to the quality of that game or not. Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, meanwhile, is an FPS set in the Warhammer universe, and while the PC version will be available on November 30, those on Xbox Series X will have to wait until an undetermined point in the future to play.
Based on what's already been announced so far, November 2022 is going to be a massive month for the gaming industry, with multiple high profile new releases across all platforms that fans will want to keep their eye on. And while November 2022 is looking to be the busiest month for gaming all year, it should be noted that there are plenty of major releases coming out in October 2022 as well, including Gotham Knights, the early access version of Overwatch 2, and of course, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, which will most likely end up as the best-selling game of the year by the time it's all said and done.
