Splinter Cell fans have been patiently awaiting the return of the stealth series for quite some time. Many were upset when rumors that a new Splinter Cell would be revealed at E3 2018 didn't pan out but a reveal still could be in the cards very soon, according to a new teaser on social media.

The suggestion that a new Splinter Cell game will be announced comes from Luca Ward, an Italian actor who voices Sam Fisher in the Italian language version of the game. On his official Facebook page, the actor posted a photo of himself alongside three neon green dots aligned to represent the Splinter Cell logo. Ward set this photo as the cover image of his Facebook profile, making it one of the first things that fans see when they load up the page. In case that wasn't overt enough, in the comments of that post, Ward posted a link to a YouTube video of the Splinter Cell 1 Main Menu theme music.

While Ward hasn't explicitly stated that a new Splinter Cell game is coming or that he will again be lending his vocal talents to the game, there are plenty of other rumors doing the rounds. Just a week ago, industry analysts suggested that a new Splinter Cell game will release in 2019. While some were predicting that Ubisoft could officially reveal the game during its annual E3 press conference in June, Ward's social media posts indicate that an announcement could take place a lot sooner.

The comments from the analysts aren't the only hint that a new Splinter Cell is in the works. A couple of weeks ago, former Ubisoft producer Jade Raymond revealed that while she was at the company, her team worked on a concept for a new game in the series. While her departure from Ubisoft left the project in limbo, it's reasonable to think that it was able to get back on track in the time after she had left.

In fact, in the past few months, current Ubisoft executives have been discussing the series' return. Most recently, Ubisoft's chief creative officer Serge Hascoet said that making a new Splinter Cell is just a case of "resources." Judging by Ward's social media posts, these resources may have been secured and it may only be a matter of time until the game is announced.
