The recent THQ Nordic showcase came packed with games to show off, including a remake of Alone in the Dark, AEW Fight Forever, Destroy All Humans! 2 Reprobed, SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake, and much more. But in a classic showcase move, THQ Nordic saved a major tease for last: a new South Park game.

South Park is, without a doubt, one of the biggest animated sitcoms out there today, and it's only getting bigger. In 2021, South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone signed a massive deal, which focused on more shows and movies, but also included plans for a dispensary and a new video game. That video game would seemingly be the South Park title in development under Question Games, not to be confused with the new South Park title from THQ Nordic. Now, it is possible there is a publishing agreement and these two games are one and the same, but until otherwise confirmed, it's likely these two titles should be treated as separate titles.

After all, South Park is deserving of more than one game. Unfortunately, as much is known about THQ Nordic's South Park game as there is Question Games'. The presentation ended with a voiceover of Randy Marsh and ended with the image seen below. That's it. However, if THQ Nordic is teasing this now, it's entirely possible fans will see something more concrete in the coming months, if next year.

South Park has had a ton of games during its tenure, but the two that stand out the most are South Park: The Stick of Truth and The Fractured But Whole. These turn-based RPGs were much better received than past games in the franchise, and many fans have hoped that there would be another South Park in the same vein. With two titles now seemingly in development, that seems more possible than ever. One could be taking a new approach, while the other sticks to its guns.

It should be noted that THQ was set to publish South Park: The Stick of Truth prior to Ubisoft, but was prevented from doing so due to its bankruptcy. If THQ Nordic is now publishing a new game like South Park: The Stick of Truth, then it's basically coming full circle for the company. However, a lot of questions go unanswered about this game, Question's game, their approach and style, and much, much more.

A new South Park game is in development.
