Like many Soul Calibur games in the past, the latest installment of the video game series, titled Soul Calibur 6, will also feature various guest fighters. It was announced earlier this year that one of the guest fighters that will appear in Soul Calibur 6 is Geralt of Rivia from the award-winning The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt. Very recently, a gameplay video that showcases Geralt's moves in the game has been posted on YouTube, along with a few other Soul Calibur 6 matches.

The gameplay video of Geralt shows a fight between Taki, who was also recently announced to join the game, and Geralt at an impressive 60fps on PlayStation 4 Pro. The gameplay video shows that in Soul Calibur 6, Geralt uses the same weapons that he uses in The Witcher 3, which are his two swords. The video also reveals that Geralt will be using some of his signature sword moves from The Witcher in Soul Calibur 6, along with a few basic fighting moves such as kicks and punches.

Unfortunately, from this video it does not seem that Geralt will be able to use any magic to aid him in his fights in Soul Calibur 6, even though he uses magic quite extensively in The Witcher 3 and it is evidently a big part of his fighting style. Geralt's power-up move reveals glowing swords though, which may be compensation for the lack of magic in his fighting style in SoulCalibur 6, but it might have been good to be able to play Geralt with a fighting style that is closer to his fighting style in The Witcher 3 in Soul Calibur 6.

The game, and the Soul Calibur version of Geralt nevertheless look great, and we look forward to being able to play with other possible guest fighters such as  the Hunter from Bloodborne and Killer Instinct‘s Jago. We may also see Lucina from Fire Emblem in the game, but none of these characters have been confirmed yet. There is no confirmed release date for the game, but a leak suggests that it may release as early as September of 2018.

Soul Calibur 6 is set to release in 2018 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
