Sucker Punch Productions rose to prominence on the PlayStation 2 with its Sly Cooper series of platforming games, all of which earned widespread acclaim from critics. It followed that up with open world superhero games Infamous, which were also well-received. The latest game from Sucker Punch is Ghost of Tsushima, which also proved to be a smash hit. Sucker Punch is rumored to be working on a Ghost of Tsushima sequel as its next game, but in the meantime, it seems fans of the company's older works may also be in luck.

According to the latest rumors, new Infamous and Sly Cooper games are in development, though not necessarily at Sucker Punch Productions. Leaker AccountNGT has claimed that both Sly Cooper and Infamous are in development, with a chance that the Infamous game could even be revealed at some point later this year. With Sucker Punch supposedly busy with Ghost of Tsushima 2, one has to imagine that these rumored games, if they exist, are in the works at other studios, though that's just speculation at this time.

Sucker Punch's franchises have been handed off to other studios in the past, and so if the developer is truly busy with a Ghost of Tsushima sequel as rumored, then it would make sense for Sony to hand off Sly Cooper and Infamous to someone else. The latest Sly Cooper game was developed by Sanzaru Games, which is now owned by Facebook, so Sony would likely have to reach out to someone else to make it.

This isn't the first time that rumors of a new Sly Cooper or Infamous game have been mentioned. Last year, other leakers expressed the belief that a new Infamous game was going to be revealed at a PlayStation State of Play event, though it never happened. As for the rumored new Sly Cooper game, leakers claimed that it started development within the last couple of years. While the jury is still out on whether or not Sucker Punch would be the studio behind a new Infamous game, the leaks have already claimed that a potential new Sly Cooper game would be developed by someone else.

All things considered, fans should take this information with a massive grain of salt. While it would make sense for Sony to try to capitalize on the popularity of its franchises like Sly Cooper and Infamous, no official plans have been announced at the time of this writing.
