Greetings, Ranters, and welcome once again to our weekly rundown of the games you could be buying any day now.

Well, this is is. The big one. The one many gamers have been waiting all year for. Sharp-eyed readers may have noticed that this week's new release list is a bit shorter than the last several such lists have been, and of course there is a reason for that. Nobody, but nobody, wants to compete with Activision/Treyarch's Call of Duty: Black Ops.

Still, some brave publishers must persist in sending various and sundry other games to retail this week, no doubt hoping to take advantage of the flood of gamers, money in hand, that Black Ops will surely drive into stores. As is our mission, we will dutifully report those titles.

Have a look at the new releases for November 7 through 13, 2010, broken out by platform and date.

Widely expected to be the best selling game of the year, Call of Duty: Black Ops wages an all our assault on retail November 9, 2010. The game has received an enormous amount of coverage, from the recent revelations about Zombie Mode, to projections for the amount of DLC due to be released for it. We've even given you a look at the game's launch trailer. No one is on the fence about Black Ops, and frankly we suspect most Game Rant readers will be playing it. Be sure to check back with us and share your thoughts on the game once you've got it in your hands.

For a complete change of pace, Wii owners might want to have a look at FlingSmash. Loosely resembling Boom Blox re-imagined as a side-scrolling platformer, FlingSmash comes bundled with Nintendo's new Wii Remote Plus. The last Wii game to come bundled with a controller, Wii Play, went on to become the best-selling game of all time, despite receiving universally poor reviews. FlingSmash, developed by Artoon, looks like it could actually turn out to be a solid game. At just $49.99 for the game and the controller, FlingSmash may well find success this season.

It's a tough holiday for Sony. Sure, Move is out there, and it looks like Gran Turismo 5 may make it after all, but there is no Uncharted, no Ratchet and Clank, no Killzone -- pickings are a little slim for the PlayStation faithful. So its got to be good news that Sucker Punch's excellent PS2 Sly Cooper games are on the way this week, polished-up for PS3 and sporting some 3D, in The Sly Collection. Given the dearth of character-based platformers on the PS3 this season, Sly doesn't have much in the way of competition. Even if he did, the value proposition of getting three full games for just $39.99 would be hard to beat.

As always, we want to hear from you. What games are you picking up this week? After you get Call of Duty: Black Ops, are there any games left that you're looking forward to?
