It seems like just yesterday EA Sports' Madden NFL 11 kicked off the holiday games season, promising many months filled with nothing but one blockbuster title after another. Now here we are, just over a week away from Thanksgiving, and that season has nearly come to an end. Time flies, when you're playing tons and tons of games.

While it would be nearly impossible for any single game to have the megaton impact of last week's record setting Call of Duty: Black Ops, collectively it's set up to be another devastating week. Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, and Sonic Colors all rush to retail this week, alongside the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows movie-tie-in and a rash of exercise games.

Have a look at the new releases for November 14 through 20, 2010, broken out by date and platform.

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood and Need for Speed Hot Pursuit are locked in a fearsome struggle for biggest game of the week. Both games represent significant departures for their respective series. Brotherhood brings online multiplayer to the Assassin's Creed universe. Hot Pursuit, as verified by our hands-on time with the game, jettisons the sim focus of last year's Need for Speed: Shift. Whichever title ultimately claims the top spot on the sales charts, gamers will be the real winners. Look for Game Rant's reviews of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood and Need for Speed Hot Pursuit soon.

Also likely to make a strong impact on gamers' wallets this week, Sonic Colors just might be the best console Sonic game in years. Sonic the Hedgehog 4 did its job whetting appetites for a proper modern Sonic game, and Colors is all set to reap the benefits. The game made a good impression at PAX, and has the platformer genre largely to itself until Donkey Kong Country Returns releases next week.

Finally, for whatever reason, there is a veritable fitness game pileup going down this week. EA Sports Active 2, EA Sports Active NFL Training Camp, Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimatum, Zumba Fitness, and Zumba Fitness: Join the Party, not to mention such activity-based games as DanceDanceRevolution and Deca Sports Freedom, will be on hand to help gamers get back into fighting shape after the coming Turkey Day excess.

Precious few marquee releases remain for 2010. Gran Turismo 5, Donkey Kong Country Returns, and Disney Epic Mickey are lined up to bring the season to a close. Soon after, Game of the Year debates will begin in earnest. Feel free to leave your early picks in the comments below.

As always, we want to hear from you. What games are you picking up this week?
