New Releases January 9 Through 15, 2011

Greetings, Ranters. We hope that the new year finds you all healthy, happy, and ready to play some new games!

After several weeks of extreme quietude, the game publishers of the world are slowly getting back into the swing of things, and are finally ready to start busting out the first games of 2011. Leading the charge is Sony Online Entertainment's PS3 and PC massively multiplayer online role playing game, DC Universe Online.

That's not the only new game hitting the shelves this week. Take a look at the new releases for January 9 through 15, broken out by platform and date.

DC Universe Online finally makes its long awaited official bow this week. The game just finished a successful beta on both PC and PS3, capped with a novel closing event. Get ready to take to the streets of Gotham City, fighting alongside Superman as a hero, or against all those goodie-two-shoes should you choose to go the villain route. Massively multiplayer role playing games have been extremely slow to make the jump to consoles. Will this be the first game to get it right? We'll find out when DC Universe Online launches January 11, 2011.

It's a great week to be a DS owner. Two anticipated titles are coming to the system, Capcom's Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective and Square Enix's Kingdom Hearts Re:coded. Which will you choose, the quirky supernatural detective story, or the action RPG packed full of Disney characters? Whatever you decide, you'll be able to grab a copy January 11, 2011.

As always, we want to hear from you. Which of this weeks games are you itching to play? What upcoming games are you most looking forward to?
