Greetings, Ranters, and welcome to the first full week of December, 2010. By now, many homes have been decorated for the holidays, and many wish lists have been filled out. There is a surprisingly robust offering of new games arriving this week, all the better to help freshen up that end of the year shopping experience.

One game clearly stands apart from everything else being released this week. The hugely anticipated World of Warcraft: Cataclysm could quite possibly equal the jaw-dropping sales achieved by Halo: Reach and Call of Duty: Black Ops -- if, of course, it doesn't just blow right past them.

Take a look at the new releases for December 5 through 11, 2010, broken out by platform and date.

There is simply no overestimating the impact that World of Warcraft: Cataclysm is likely to have on the gaming landscape this week. For many players, this is the event of the season. Here at Game Rant we've been counting down to the game's release, hoping to prepare fans and newcomers alike for Cataclysm, and we've issued a comprehensive list of things to do before the game hits. No game has more dedicated fans than World of Warcraft. Can Cataclysm possibly live up to their expectations? And what will Blizzard do next? We'll find out extremely soon. World of Warcraft: Cataclysm will be available December 7, 2010.

Disney's Tron is everywhere this week. Although the movie won't be in theatres until December 17, the game is coming out for paracticly every platform still in production. The Wii version of the game, Tron: Evolution -- Battle Grids, differs from its peers on the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC by being more of a multiplayer party game, with an excellent Light Cycle arena mode. The remaining versions are more story-oriented, and act (appropriately enough) as a prequel to the film. Will either version be a hit with gamers? We'll know when the game releases December 7, 2010.

Finally, for a vastly more casual audience, PopCap Games is releasing Bejeweled 3 this week. The previous Bejeweled titles are among the most popular casual /puzzele games ever produced, and there is no reason to think that Bejeweled 3 will be any different. It'll even have tea and cake at its launch party! Look for it on PC December 7, 2010.

As always, we want to hear from you. What games are you planning on picking up this week? Do you think Cataclysm will end up selling as well as Black Ops? Let us know in the comments below.
