Under pressure from Microsoft's ever-expanding Xbox Game Pass, Sony has recently revamped its PlayStation Plus service. This revamp rolls together PlayStation Plus' online play, cloud support, and monthly free games with PlayStation Now's game streaming, bringing them under a single service.

Players may worry that, with the increase in content being offered, the price will increase as well. That's not necessarily the case, however. It all depends on how much of an investment the player is willing to put in.

As a bonus feature, PlayStation Premium offers a trial system, allowing players to demo major titles before buying.

People who were already subscribed to the defunct PlayStation Now shouldn't worry about having to re-subscribe. Players who haven't canceled their PlayStation Now subscriptions will have their membership upgraded to PlayStation Plus Premium automatically.
