New Pokemon Snap's release date is closing in, and Pokemon fans are excited to revisit one of the most beloved spin-off titles in the series' long history. Similar to the original Pokemon Mystery Dungeon spin-off series getting some love on the Nintendo Switch last year, fans are getting a chance to revisit another classic Pokemon title in 2021.

With the release date drawing closer and closer, Nintendo and The Pokemon Company have been putting out various ads for the game on YouTube and Twitter. Now, Nintendo has put out two very brief trailers that shows off some New Pokemon Snap gameplay, as well as highlights some of the locations and Pokemon that players will encounter during their journey through the new Lental Region.

The trailers are both only a mere 30 seconds long, but each trailer shows off a bit more of the game that players haven't seen yet. The first trailer highlights various locations in the Lental Region which players will travel to and take pictures of wild Pokemon. This trailer gives brief glimpses of a jungle location, a seaside location, and a nature park. Additionally, the trailer also shows off a bit of a desert location towards the end of the trailer.

The second trailer instead focuses on the various wild Pokemon that players will encounter during New Pokemon Snap. The trailer spotlights Pokemon like Tyranitor, Wailord, and Scorbunny, showcasing a wide variety of Pokemon from different generations. From the various ads that have been released so far, along with the fact that New Pokemon Snap is releasing far later in Pokemon's life than the original Pokemon Snap, it's clear that New Pokemon Snap will have more Pokemon to photograph when compared to the Nintendo 64 title. Even among the earliest trailers for New Pokemon Snap, over 70 Pokemon were confirmed to appear, beatin out the original Pokemon Snap's total of 63 Pokemon.

While New Pokemon Snap will almost certainly not feature every available Pokemon not, the amount that the trailers and promotional materials have shown off is a great sign. Additionally, these two trailers also highlight more special animations that some Pokemon will do, similar to Pidgeot snatching up a Magikarp. Players can see Pichu and Grookey playing together, a Kangaskhan looking up at a starry night sky, and Aipom jumping on top of Quagsire's head. Overall, the quality of the animations look great with tons of unique and situational animations already on display.

For those who want to see a longer look at New Pokemon Snap's gameplay, the Japanese Pokemon YouTube channel put up a six minute long trailer detailing various elements of the game. With New Pokemon Snap's April 30 release date closing in, players just have to wait a bit longer to explore the Lental Region and take pictures of their favorite Pokemon. Though New Pokemon Snap has a lot to live up to after more than 20 years of anticipation, it's definitely shaping up to be an excellent successor to 1999's Pokemon Snap.

New Pokemon Snap releases exclusively for the Nintendo Switch on April 30th, 2021.
