After more than 20 years since the first entry in the series, New Pokemon Snap finally released. The on-rails photography game has received a warm welcome from Pokemon fans, but the Nintendo Switch's ongoing hardware issues are making it very difficult for New Pokemon Snap players to get the accurate pictures they need.

Drift issues in the Switch's Joy-Con controllers are nothing new and are a problem that has plagued the console for years now. The problem is so widespread that Nintendo has faced multiple lawsuits over Joy-Con drift, and many Switch players voice their frustrations with the issue to this day.

For New Pokemon Snap players the issue is being particularly troublesome, as it is preventing them from getting the accuracy that the game requires of players to get higher scores. New Pokemon Snap does have a feature that allows players to perfect their photos afterwards, but the tweaks don't apply to the grading the pictures receive. The drift is causing such issues with players being unable to take accurate enough photos that they are having to play levels many more times than they should in order to get decent enough photos to complete them. With how well New Pokemon Snap has sold, it is unfortunate that so many players are experiencing such issues with the Joy-Con Drift.

Many players are taking to Twitter to vent their frustration at having to battle Joy-Con Drift to get the pictures that they are looking for. The community has even started calling playing New Pokemon Snap with Joy-Con Drift the Hard difficulty for the game. Some players are recommending using a wired controller or one of Nintendo's pro controllers to line up a perfect photograph in New Pokemon Snap, but for players who don't have that option, others are also opting to use the gyro-controls to aim.

While Nintendo has yet to announce any fix or attempt to address Joy-Con Drift, hopefully, something can be done sooner or later to make sure that players can continue enjoying New Pokemon Snap and other Switch titles. Luckily, while the Joy-Con Drift is frustrating some players, it doesn't seem to be ruining the overall experience of New Pokemon Snap, as it has brought the beloved series to the Switch in an all-new modern way. Hopefully, most players can still enjoy all of the cool locales and Pokemon that New Pokemon Snap has to offer fans.

New Pokemon Snap is available now on Switch.
