Shiver Snowfields (Day) in one of the penultimate courses in New Pokemon Snap and is unlocked once players have photographed their fourth Illumina Pokemon. There are two alternate routes for players to explore, although the first can only be unlocked at research level 2 and the second must first be explored in the nighttime variant of the course before players can go there in the day (see the Alolan Sandslash and Dewgong entries below for more information).

Once both routes have been unlocked and players have reached research level 3, there will be 24 different types of Pokemon to photograph. That's not quite as many as in the Undersea course, although it really isn't too far off. Ultimately, it's a course in which seeing everything will take players quite a while, although exploring it can actually be quite a lot of fun.

Every Pokemon In Shiver Snowfields (Day)

A complete map of the Shiver Snowfields (Day) course in New Pokemon Snap

Research Level 1

  • Furret - There are a few Furret scattered around the course's opening stages, including one or two that will need to be coaxed out of their holes.
  • Beartic - Beartic can be found playing with Cubchoo near the beginning of the course. They also show up near both the default and alternate exits.
  • Cubchoo - Cubchoo are usually hanging out with Beartic. At higher research levels, there'll be one buried inside a pile of snow near the start of the course though, which players will have to coax out with Fluffruit to fulfill a request.
  • Swinub - There are Swinub in pretty much all of the outdoor areas of the course, but one of the better spots to snap a photograph is the big hill that players travel up in the early stages of the course.
  • Skarmony - Skarmony can be seen flying around in most outdoor sections. There's a nice photo opp that will also fulfill a request near the alternate exit, although players will have to reach research level 2 before they can get to it.
  • Mamoswine - A herd of Mamoswine like to hang around in the area at the top of the steep hill that players climb early on. There are also a few of them near the course's alternate exit.
  • Vivillon - Players will be able to see some Vivillon off in the distance when they reach the first area with the Mamoswine. They'll also show up at the end of the course and the Polar Pattern variant can be found if players pass through both snow walls.
  • Snom - There are some Snom in a tree as players travel down the steep hill, although they'll only have a split second to snap a photograph. It's far easier to get a decent shot of them by following the default route into the large cavern and then turning around and looking to the left. They also show up in trees on the first part of the alternate route and players can get a four star photo in this area with a little bit of work.
  • Snorunt - Players will encounter a bunch of Snowrunt shortly after they get to the bottom of the steep hill. There are more in the cavern just ahead too. At research level 2, they'll also show up on the left side of the icy cavern that's beyond the second snow wall.
  • Glalie - Glalie likes to hang out on the left hand side of the cavern. Hitting it with a Fluffruit once it is awake will lead to it creating a frost shield around itself which is considered a four star photo if captured on film.
  • Piplup - There are Piplup in the final area of the course, the first of which can be seen as players exit the cavern and are making their way up to the final area. They show up near the alternate exit too.
  • Spheal - There are Spheal near both of the course's exits. Given their size and placement, they should be fairly easy to spot.
  • Magikarp - There are Magikarp in the pool of water right before players leave the course through the default exit.

Research Level 2

  • Alolan Sandslash - Alolan Sandslash shows up on the left at the start of the course. If players snap a photo before it dives into the ground, it will show up again a few moments later. Photographing it a second time will lead to it tunneling through a snow wall at the bottom of the hill and unlocking an alternate route in both the day and night variants of the course. After passing the first snow wall, if players throw Illumina Orbs on the ground in front of the spot where the four Snom show up in the In the Blizzard request, Alolan Sandslash will appear and players will be able to feed it Fluffruit for a four star photo. If they do so, it will also show up in the icy cavern past the second snow wall.
  • Weavile - Once players hit research level 2, Weavile will show up in the opening section of the course as well as in the area with the Mamoswine.
  • Froslass - Froslass can be found in the big cavern on the default route. There'll be another one in the cavern on the second alternate route too once players unlock it a little later on.
  • Alolan Vulpix - Alolan Vulpix will show up near the course's default exit. It will be a lot more friendly at research level 3, so this is definitely the best time to photograph it.
  • Abomosnow - There's an Abamosnow in the area behind the snow wall, although getting a decent picture could be tricky due to the blizzard.
  • Crabominable - Players will be able to find a Crabominable not too far from the Abomosnow. There's another one near the water if players unlock the second alternate route in the Shiver Snowfields (Night) course.

Research Level 3

  • Glaceon - Glaceon will start showing up once players reach research level 3. Initially, the only place that players will see it is up in the snow above the steep hill that players travel down, although snapping a picture of it will cause it to show up again at the end of the course. Here, throwing a Fluffruit onto the small island in the middle of the water will cause Glaceon to jump out and allow players to get some decent close-up photos of it.
  • Dewgong - In order to see Dewgong, players will first need to visit the Shiver Snowfields (Night) course after they've unlocked the first alternate route in the daytime variant. If players follow this route at nighttime, they'll be greeted by an angry Crabominable that's running around punching trees. Hitting it with an Illumina Orb will cause it to punch the tree near Abomasnow extra hard and the latter to summon a Froslass in its anger at being woken. If players photograph the Froslass, it will pass through a second wall of snow which opens up a new route in both variants of the course. Once this has been unlocked, players will be able to follow it in Shiver Snowfields (Day) and see Dewgong both on the left immediately as they pass through the snow wall and out on the water after they've exited the cavern.
  • Vanilluxe - Vanilluxe shows up in the cavern that players pass through on the second alternate route. If players use the Melody Player near Glalie and then hit it with an Illumina Orb, it will bit a nearby Avalugg's tail and scare Vanilluxe away. If this happens, throwing a Fluffruit into the hole in the wall to the left of the alternate exit, Vanilluxe will jump out and players will be able to get a four star photo of it.
  • Mightyena - After exiting the cavern that leads to the course's alternate exit, players will be able to see and photograph a pack of Mightyena off in the distance.
  • Avalugg - There'll be an Avalugg out in the water not too far from the course's alternate exit. Players can also get one to show up in the icy cavern past the second snow wall by using the Melody Player near Glalie and then hitting it with an Illumina Orb.
