Players will gain access to Belusylva Island's Illumina Spot once they have reached research level 2 in New Pokemon Snap's Elsewhere Forest course. There are nine different types of Pokemon to find and photograph there, although with the exception of Milotic, they can all be found in the aforementioned Forest course.

Due to the course primarily taking place over water, a lot of the Pokemon will have to be photographed from distance, so players shouldn't expect to get too many decent pictures. That said, there are some unique interactions that can only be seen here, so it's definitely worth exploring for those who want to see everything that New Pokemon Snap has to offer.

Research Level 1

  • Milotic - Milotic serves as the course's Illumina Pokemon and will be directly in front of players at the beginning of the course. Before they can take a picture of it though, they'll first need to hit it with a Fluffruit in order to make it surface and then hit with Illumina Orbs to make it glow. If players do this in the final section, it will leap high into the air which counts as a three star photo. Hitting it with another Illumina Orb while it is still in the air will make it climb higher still and the resulting pose will count as a four star picture.

Research Level 2

  • Magikarp - There are Magikarp in both the starting section and the course's central area. If Milotic is illuminated when it swims past one, the Magikarp will leap out of the water.
  • Lotad - The course is full of Lotad, but there don't seem to be any photo opportunities with them that can't be obtained in the main Elsewhere Forest course. As such, they're probably best ignored.
  • Bulbasaur - There are a few Bulbasaur sat on an island near where the player enters the course. They'll cheer when an illuminated Milotic swims past, although the NEO-ONE never really gets close enough to get a decent picture of them.
  • Ninetails - If players can get Milotic to roar in the starting area, it will increase the chances of Ninetails showing up in the bushes to the right of where the player enters the course. Even if it does though, it can be pretty tough to spot. If players are able to illuminate Milotic early both times in the central area, another Ninetails will also show up near Trevenant and speak with Milotic over by that Crystabloom. If this happens and players photograph it, the Pokemon will also appear opposite the course's exit.
  • Kecleon - Just after players enter the second area, they'll pass a small island with a Kecleon on it. They won't be able to photograph it until they hit it with an Illumina Orb or two though, so they'll need to pay close attention to its outline to find its exact location.
  • Trevenant - There's a single Trevenant on the river bank near the Crystabloom. If Milotic approaches to speak with the Ninetails it will perform a three star pose, although getting close enough to photograph it can be difficult.
  • Serperior - There's a Serperior on a river bank to the left of where Trevenant and Ninetails show up. If illuminated, Milotic will stop by to talk to it.
  • Espeon - Espeon is fast asleep on the bank opposite Serperior near the course's exit. It can be woken with a single Illumina Orb and if players do this while Milotic is still talking to Serperior, the former will stop by to speak with Espeon before it swims away. If players capture this moment, they'll get a four star photo of Espeon.
