Mobile game developer DeNA recently revealed on Twitter that it is currently in partnership with The Pokemon Company to work on a new mobile game for the Pokemon franchise. DeNA is no stranger in developing mobile games for Nintendo given that it has already produced several successful titles for the Japanese publisher such as Super Mario Run, Fire Emblem Heroes, and Animal Crossing Pocket Camp.

The venture between DeNA and The Pokemon Company was revealed during a financial meeting held recently. While DeNA did not provide any specific details as to how the upcoming Pokemon mobile game will take form, it is possible that it will be some sort of a tactical strategy title, given that DeNA has previously developed a number of mobile games under that specific genre.

Nonetheless, more details are expected to emerge in the coming months given that DeNA also revealed that the upcoming Pokemon mobile game will be released sometime in March of 2020. Of course, given that Pokemon GO has been extremely profitable for Nintendo ever since it launched on smartphones back in 2016, it is understandable that the company wants to capitalize on Pokemon GO's success by introducing a new entry in the mobile game market.

Although Nintendo's main line of business still revolves around console gaming, it appears that the company can no longer ignore the growing market for mobile games. In fact, when it announced its intention to enter the mobile game industry, Nintendo's stocks rose immediately after the announcement. Soon after, the company has partnered with DeNA and was able to release a roster of highly-successful mobile games that are based on Nintendo's current IP's.

Apart from the development of a new Pokemon mobile game, DeNA is also currently working on a project with Nintendo in the form of Mario Kart Tour, which was announced early last year. Mario Kart Tour aims to bring Nintendo's highly-successful racing game franchise to mobile devices and is expected to be released later this year.

The upcoming Pokemon mobile game still has no official title but is expected to release to mobile devices on March 2020.
