The first quarter of 2021 is starting off fairly slow for the world of AAA video games. Not many publishers are putting out heavy-hitting titles until later in the year, so for those gamers out there who are looking to play through their backlog or just experience a brand-new undiscovered title, they'll be happy to know that there's a new sale happening right now.

To tide players over until the slew of first-party releases come out for PS4 and PS5, Sony has decided to launch the Critics' Choice Sale on the PlayStation Store, providing discounts on several quality video games. The sale kicks off today on February 3rd and does not come to an end until February 17th, giving players about two weeks to save some of their hard-earned cash.

Every game that's part of this Critics' Choice PSN sale is critically acclaimed and is no doubt worth picking up. The sale features discounts on games like Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Immortals Fenyx Rising, Red Dead Redemption 2, Grand Theft Auto 5, DOOM Eternal, and many others.

Anybody interested in checking out Destiny 2: Beyond Light can grab the expansion for $26.79; Ubisoft's latest open-world title, Watch Dogs: Legion, is up for grabs for $29.99; FromSoftware's award-winning action-RPG, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, is $38.99; and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 is $29.99.

Now, the games listed above aren't the only titles on sale right now as part of the ongoing promotion, so those that are interested in looking at the entire list should head on over to the official PlayStation store via their consoles, mobile devices, or internet browser.

This is the perfect opportunity for PlayStation fans to dive into their backlog and check out some of the critically acclaimed video games that have released over the past few years or so. It's not too often that these sales happen, so gamers should make sure to add these items to their digital shopping carts as quickly as they can before the Critics' Choice Sale comes to an end.

The Critic's Choice Sale is only available via the PlayStation Store and will be live until February 17th, 2021. Only PS4/PS5 titles are on sale, so players won't find any discounts on PS3 or Vita titles, unfortunately.

As for other sales going on at the moment, gamers can pick up Journey to the Savage Planet at a discounted price on Steam to celebrate the game's first anniversary. The first-person action game was originally an Epic Games Store exclusive for PC players but not it's available for all to try out on Valve's digital storefront.
