Square Enix is celebrating the holiday season, teasing tomorrow's release of a trailer for either Kingdom Hearts 3 or Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue.

Square Enix has been keeping their trailers for Kingdom Hearts close to the chest. The last Kingdom Hearts III trailer was shown during the D23 event, but was never released publicly. The trailer before that was brief and tied into the announcement of Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue. Kingdom Hearts fans are starving for more information regarding either game. Luckily, Square Enix is starting to feel the holiday spirit. They're teasing the release of a new Kingdom Hearts trailer tomorrow.

On Twitter, Square Enix left the following short message:

It wouldn't be a holiday gift if there wasn't a bit of mystery hidden within. Square Enix teases the logos of both Kingdom Hearts III and Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, but doesn't specifically say whether the new trailer will be for one game or the other. Though there's also the possibility that the trailer will feature both games, just like the September trailer announcing Kingdom Hearts 2.8. Either way, Kingdom Hearts fans are certain to be excited.

No need to get too excited, however. There's still no guarantee that Kingdom Hearts III is going to even be released in 2016, so Square Enix may not reveal too much about the game this early. There isn't even a release date for Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8, and it only make sense that Square Enix would want this precursor to be available for a good amount of time prior to Kingdom Hearts III. Then again, it's certainly possible that Square Enix has plenty of marketing material to last a good year to a year and a half for Kingdom Hearts III. Bring on the trailers.

There's a likelihood that the trailer to be released tomorrow will just be the D23 2015 trailer for Kingdom Hearts III, as it has yet to be officially released. Fans have been waiting since the event in November for trailer to be made widely available, though that hasn't stopped speculation regarding leaked information regarding the trailer. The D23 trailer's release wouldn't be as great as an all new trailer, but beggars can't be choosers.

The D23 trailer, for those who haven't heard (stop here to avoid trailer spoilers) features a longer conversation between Eraqus and Xehanort -- the conversation shown in the September trailer. There's also footage of the Buzz Lightyear ride attack in all of its glory. Then there's more footage of both the Tangled and Hercules worlds -- no new world reveals. There's also a bit of narrative shown, but that's probably best to experience with the video.

Kingdom Hearts III or Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, D23 trailer or all new, Kingdom Hearts fans of all sorts should be excited for new footage debuting tomorrow.

Kingdom Hearts III is planned for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but has no current release window. Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue is planned for the PlayStation 4 and will launch in 2016.
