Hyrule Warriors proved popular with many Legend of Zelda fans, with its numerous different releases selling well across the Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, and the Switch. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity was no different, pulling fans in with its tie-in to Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, while offering the same hack and slash gameplay players enjoyed from the first Hyrule Warriors title. Now fans can sink their teeth into more content arriving to the game with Wave 1 of Age of Calamity's DLC plans starting June 18th.

For Hyrule Warriors, Nintendo released a rather large amount of downloadable content, expanding a vast roster of Legend of Zelda characters to play as and adding even more weapons to choose from. As part of the Nintendo Direct for E3 2021, Nintendo revealed the DLC Expansion Pack plans for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity to the fans waiting with anticipation.

The trailer sets up some interesting future updates for the Legend of Zelda spin-off, showcasing new weapons such as Link using a glowing robotic-like flail, and a new character in the form of a Guardian. It also shows that Zelda is getting the Master Cycle, with the addition of new quests and enemies to fight coming in the pack as well, though what exactly the missions include seems to be something fans will have to find out when they get to play them.

This look at the Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity DLC gives players a taste of what to expect once the update goes live on June 18th. The Expansion Pass also comes with special items for those that buy it ahead of Wave 2, including a new costume for Link.

While the trailer is short, sweet, and only showed what comes in Wave 1, some fans may feel underwhelmed with what little is coming at the moment regarding this Zelda title's DLC. It seems to offer more in the way of missions rather than characters, costumes, and weapons.

One thing fans of Link and his adventures should remember if Wave 1 doesn't look the most promising, is Wave 1 and 2 probably won't be where the updates to Age of Calamity stop. Even if Wave 1 leaves a lot to be desired for some players, they'll have something to look forward to with future additions to the game likely on the way.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity Wave 1 will be available June 18th, with the Expansion Pass available now on the Nintendo eShop for the Switch.
