Sony Interactive Entertainment may be developing a brand new horror IP. No concrete information has been shared on the game, which leaves much for speculation, but the rumor alleges that the PlayStation 5 will be receiving a new scary game in the near future.

With games like Death Stranding having been completed in late 2019, and his previously professed interest in creating a horror title, it's possible that Hideo Kojima could be working on this secretive game. For many, the 2014 demo P.T., created by Kojima, still comes to mind as the quintessential horror experience on the PlayStation. Hidden details were still being uncovered for years after the release of the P.T. demo.

The rumored PS5 horror game may be something like the P.T. game that fans have been waiting for, or it may be something else entirely. Over the past decade or so the horror genre has seen somewhat of a resurgence, thanks partially to the indie scene, and thanks to franchises like the Resident Evil series getting back on track. Whether this rumored PlayStation 5 title is something brand new or something fans have already had a taste of, it's good to know that the horror genre is in a good place.

With Sony and Microsoft vying for first place in the next generation, it should come as no surprise when information gets leaked, whether purposely or not. A top-notch horror game would certainly be something to help bolster the catalog for Sony and the PS5.

Many fans want an old-school experience when it comes to their horror games. The popularity, both sales and critically, of the Resident Evil 2 remake has probably raised the eyebrows of important individuals in the gaming world. That being said, a lot of people also have been craving a P.T. like horror game for quite some time. In fact, the once-PS4 exclusive P.T.  became playable again on the PC thanks to a very creative and hard-working fan.

Time will tell if this horror PS5 game is real. What is known is that 2020 is stacking up to be an incredible year in gaming, and the rumors aren't going to stop.
