Hudson has announced that a new Fairy Tail game titled Original Story from Fairy Tail Clash! Cardia Cathedral will be coming out for the Nintendo DS.
The Original Story from Fairy Tail Clash! Cardia Cathedral trailer for was recently released and anyone who has ever played Jump Super Stars or Jump Ultimate Stars will instantly recognize the visual style that is bursting throughout the game.
The next Fairy Tail title will be a 2D fighting game where up to four characters can fight each other at once. The gameplay is very reminiscent of similar 2D brawlers on the DS like Jump Ultimate Stars in that players will be able to interact with the environment in the stage while trying to fight off their opponents.
Check out the (non-English) trailer below:
There will be over 35 characters featured in the game and from the trailer it looks like the following are confirmed. For ease, we’ve separated the characters into their appropriate guilds from the show. Take a look:
- Natsu Dragneel
- Lucy Heartfilia
- Gray Fullbuster
- Erza Scarlet
- Gajeel Redfox
- Bisca Mulan
- Cana Alberona
- Levy McGarden
- Laxus Dreyar
- Freed Justine
- Wendy Marvell
- Lyon Bastia
- Jura Nexis
- Sherry Blendi
- Hibiki Laytis
- Ichiya Wanderlei Kotobuki
Though not part of a guild, Jellal will also be playable in Cardia Cathedral as well, which should delight Fairy Tail fans since Jellal has become a central character in the latest arcs of the anime.
As the game’s title reads, Cardia Cathedral will boast a totally original story for the player to experience. Up to four players can battle it out in the game’s multiplayer mode, in addition to the game’s Score Attack, Battle Royale, and Survival Battle modes.
Does this seem like a game that is worth importing? Even with Fairy Tail as big as it is, is this a game that seems like it would be better to release on the 3DS?
