When it comes to the looter shooter franchise Borderlands, there's no doubt that's it's absolutely about that precious loot. Borderlands 3 is no different, and like past entries, the threequel features a Golden Chest that requires Golden Keys to open. It's a great free way to swap up loot when looking for a new gun, but of course, BL3 players are limited by the number of Shift Codes available.

For those new to the franchise, Borderlands 2 was the first game to feature a golden franchise, and the feature was a huge hit. The Pre-Sequel had one, and when Gearbox Software remastered the original Borderlands, it added a golden chest to it. It's nice seeing this unique lootable continuing to get attention, as Gearbox has recently released a new shift code for Borderlands 3: CHKB3-FJT9J-SK3K5-T33JJ-95J56.

Players will need to redeem this code to earn 1 free Golden Key, but it's worth mentioning that there's conflicting reports as to whether or not the code works on the SHiFT website. Typically, Borderlands 3 players have the option of claiming it in-game or on the aforementioned website, so if the latter doesn't work, be sure to do the former. Be quick about it, though, as this shift code will expire on September 24, 2019.

In order to use Shift Codes in Borderlands 3, players need to open the social menu and tab over to the code entry page. Entering the code, which will always be 5 strings of 5 numbers/latters, will see the player rewarded with the Golden Key via mail. Tab right afterward to find the mailbox and claim the Golden Key. Of course, once the code is used, the Golden Key is the players. This means that, even after September 24 rolls around, BL3 players can use the code at the Golden Chest on Sanctuary 3 whenever they like.

Alongside the reveal of this new Golden Key, Borderlands 3 also showcased its upcoming Bloody Harvest DLC. This free, limited-time event will see the Borderlands receive a Halloween-themed makeover with new enemies, new loot, and new boss fights to boot. If nothing else, it seems promising that Gearbox Software is already willing to show so much support for the game.

Borderlands 3 is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
