It seems that there is finally some concrete evidence supporting the rumors of an upcoming Batman game developed by WB Games Montreal. Today, photos of what is purported to be artwork from the new untitled Batman game leaked to Twitter, and they showoff designs for the Batcycle.

The photos that leaked to Twitter show three different images of the Batcycle. The Batcylce is a tricked out motorcycle ridden by Batman, which is not to be confused with the Batmobile. The images show different layouts for the body of the bike placed over the same base image. In all three images the bike is imagined as having a bulky, angular design. It's unclear if players will be able to choose between these three bikes or if the studio is testing multiple ideas. The photos can be seen below.

The photos were posted to Twitter by James Sigfield, a writer for Geeks WorldWide. Sigfield indicates that his unnamed sources say that Warner Bros. was originally working on a game focused on Damian Wayne, Bruce Wayne’s son. That game was canceled, and a new project is now in development.

The art that leaked to Twitter today is from the canceled Damian game, but Warner Bros. is apparently planning on using assets developed for that title in its upcoming Batman game. Interestingly enough, in another tweet Sigfield says that the new game will not be an Arkham game, but it will instead serve as a "soft reboot."

This approach may surprise some fans, considering how popular the Arkham games have been, but it seems that players that have been clamoring for a new Arkham game need not worry. In another tweet, Sigfield clarified that the gameplay of the new Batman game is going to be very similar to what is found in those popular titles.

Earlier this year, WB Games Montreal released a cryptic image online, which led to a flurry of speculation about exactly what the next Batman game is about. There has also been talk about possible co-op gameplay, which would be a welcome addition to the series, and there have even been rumors suggesting that the game will feature playable characters from the Batfamily. However, until WB Games Montreal confirms things officially, this is all purely speculative.

Batman is rumored to be in development at WB Games Montreal.
