After issuing a few teasers, Netflix has finally announced the release date for the next season of You. With two successful seasons already on the streaming platform, fans of the twisted tale won't have to wait much longer to see the story continue.

Netflix's You follows the wicked mind of Joe Goldberg (played by Penn Badgley) as he searches for love. As charming as Joe can be, unfortunately for those he's interested in, he will stop at nothing to make his fantasies into a reality.

Netflix announced that fans of You won't have to wait much longer to see what Joe does next. The platform revealed that season 3 of You will premiere on October 15, 2021. The announcement came in the form of a video teaser where a cake was being prepared. It features a voiceover from Joe as he struggles to decide on a name for his child. He eventually decides on "Henry" and cuts a piece of cake in celebration, sliding it across the table to slyly reveal the release date.

Following the success You has had with its two previous seasons, the Netflix series has added some exciting faces including Tati Gabrielle and David Arnold as series regulars. The pair is joined by a number of other new faces that will likely make Joe's transition to fatherhood a difficult one.

You gained attention after its first season debuted on Netflix in 2018. Adapted from Caroline Kepnes' novel with the same title, You has shown a different side of Joe in the two previous seasons. In season 1, Joe relentlessly pursued struggling writer Guinevere Beck (played by Elizabeth Lail). During his pursuit, Joe stumbles across a few things about Beck that bother him and decides to eliminate anything he deems a threat to his relationship with her. Season 2 repeats the pattern with Love Quinn (played by The Haunting of Bly Manor star Victoria Pedretti) but doesn't have the same outcome as season 1.

Season 2 of the Netflix show ended with Joe and a pregnant Love moving into a suburban neighborhood. After spying on his new neighbor through the fence, it seems that even with a baby on the way, Joe is far from done with his sinister past.

The third season of You will premiere on Netflix on October 15, 2021.
