The third season of YOU has left fans eager to see what kind of shenanigans Joe will get himself into now that he’s in France. He’s a rather long trail of dead bodies behind him, but there’s no telling what will happen next season. Fans are coming with plenty of theories and talking about their favorite parts so far.

Though there are a few things that have left some fans scratching their heads. Though You is a great show, there are some bits and pieces that don’t make sense. From Joe somehow sending Ellie money without Love knowing to Matthew not solving Natalie’s murder.

10 Theo Finds Out Before Matthew

Theo Engler You season 3

Matthew spent months obsessing over Natalie’s death and hacking cameras all over Madre Linda. He even looked over the last footage of her over and over again. Yet somehow, Theo managed to find out about Joe disposing of Natalie’s body in one day.

He was able to find out that the Quinn-Goldbergs were connected. It just doesn’t make any sense that Matthew, a smart man that knows how to hack into cameras to spy on his neighbors, didn't find anything.

9 Joe Is Only Worried About His Shirt

Joe Goldberg You season 3 kills Ryan

After killing Ryan, Marienne’s ex, Joe has a bloody white t-shirt that he tries to hide from Love. The thing is: Joe was wearing a jacket over his shirt. Somehow Joe managed to get blood all over the shirt under the jacket. The jacket is black and bloodstains won’t be so obvious, but Joe tossed it on furniture and didn’t seem afraid about it soaking through. He should’ve been worried about both his jacket and shirt, but it seems the shirt got covered the most.

Not to mention, he failed to hide it properly from Love. He should’ve worn a dark-colored shirt to prevent any suspicion, especially since Love is always watching him.

8 Cary Conrad Is Overpowered By Joe

Cary Conrad You season 3

Cary Conrad has gone hunting plenty of times and taken survival classes. Yet Joe, a complete amateur, managed to use his bow and arrow to shoot Cary’s rear. As much as Cary trains and all the classes he’s taken, he should’ve been able to take Joe on with no problem. However, he went down rather easily. Getting hit with an arrow isn’t something to shake off, but it feels like Cary should’ve lasted a little longer when running from Joe.

It just didn't make sense that Joe managed to hit Cary on his first try shooting a bow. He definitely had beginner’s luck since he doesn’t exercise or take any classes to practice his aim.

7 Matthew Didn’t Notice Natalie’s Unhappiness

Matthew Engler You season 3

For being a smart man, Matthew did not notice a lot of things. He didn’t notice Natalie’s unhappiness in their marriage and believed they were happy in life. Joe was able to catch on very easily that Natalie wasn’t happy.

The text messages between her and Matthew alone were enough to show fans that they were a couple going through the motions. It took for Natalie to go missing for Matthew to actually start paying attention to her.

6 Gil Not Knowing The Truth About His Son

Gil You season 3

Poor Gil was a really good guy that tried his best to do right for his family. It took a lot of digging for Joe and Love to find dirt on him. What they found wasn’t even about Gil himself, it was about his son. It turned out his son assaulted a girl at his college and Gil and his wife paid for the girl’s silence. Gil stopped teaching at the college and his son transferred to a different one. Little did Gil know, his son would do the same thing at the college he transferred to. His wife covered it up and didn’t tell Gil about it.

The thing that didn’t make sense about this is that she took out a large sum of money to cover it up and Gil didn’t know. Unless his wife has a separate bank account, Gil should’ve known about a huge amount missing if they have a joint account.

5 Love’s Friends From LA Don’t Appear

Love's friends You season 2

For being a part of Love’s everyday life and appearing quite a bit in season 2, all of Love’s friends from LA don’t make an appearance in season 3. Sure Love and Joe moved pretty far from the city, but surely one of them would’ve come to visit her. Considering Love lost her twin brother and is grieving, married Joe, and gave birth to Henry, one of them should’ve made a cameo. Love only mentions them once and that’s the last fans hear of them.

Maybe things would’ve turned a little differently for Love if they had been around to support her. They were the ones to point out a small but vital fact about Love: she cooks when she’s happy and bakes when she’s stressed. Opening and running a bakery shows that Love is stressed under her suburban housewife facade.

4 Joe Sending Ellie Money Without Love Knowing About It

Jenna Ortega as Ellie Alves in You season 2

After hearing Love’s plans for covering up Delilah’s death and framing Ellie for Henderson’s death in season two, Joe was pretty determined to make sure Ellie stays safe and far away from her. It’s revealed that he restores old books, sells them, and sends the profits to Ellie. It just seems a little odd that Love doesn’t seem to know about this. She knows Joe very well and keeps a very close eye on him. It is possible she knows about him sending money but does not care since she’s busy with Henry.

It’s not like Ellie has proof of Joe and Love being involved in Delilah’s death. Other than Joe ominously telling her to run and Delilah isn’t coming back, she can’t prove anything. If Love knew about Joe sending Ellie, she didn’t care about it. If she didn’t know, it just seems a little odd that she never caught on.

3 Hacking The Cameras Didn’t Do Matthew Any Good

Matthew Engler You season 3

For being obsessed with Natalie’s murder, it would be pretty obvious for Matthew to investigate Gil. Since Gil was framed for it, Matthew didn’t think to look into his whereabouts on the day she was last seen.

If he had looked into Gil, Matthew would’ve seen that Gil was last seen at A Fresh Tart. He could’ve connected the dots to Love and Joe a lot sooner if he paid more attention to the details of others.

2 Love Is Capable Of Disposing Bodies But Leaves It To Joe

Love Quinn You season 3

If there is one thing Joe is pretty good at, it's covering his tracks after murdering someone. He has a story planned out and knows how to make a body disappear. Love doesn’t seem capable of doing the same, but she was able to hide Delilah and Candace’s bodies. However, it’s unknown exactly how she did this. No details are given and she tells Joe it’s better if he doesn’t know what she did with them.

It can be assumed that she used her family’s money, but her parents would’ve known about this. Love is perfectly capable of hiding bodies when she wants to, but season three made her look incapable of doing this. Though compared to Joe, Love doesn’t have a plan when she murders someone. It’s a spur-of-the-moment thing for her and her emotions tend to run high very quickly and are volatile.

1 The Therapist Didn’t Know Joe And Love Are Murderers

Joe and Love in therapy in You season 3

Joe and Love went to couples therapy and it seemed like the therapist was able to read them like a book. However, she didn’t seem to pick up on them being murderers. When she told them they’re not murderers, both of them looked unsure and away from her. They were giving away signs of their crimes, but the therapist didn’t seem to pick up on it.

Both of them are good at hiding their crimes, but a good therapist should’ve seen something in them. Though this isn’t the first time Joe fooled a therapist. He managed to keep his crimes hidden from Dr. Nicky in season one. It just seemed a little odd that Joe and Love’s therapist picked up on so many things from them except for them being killers.
