He will use anything and anyone to stop Satō, and gain his freedom from the government. A former child soldier, the titular character now works a ghostwriter. In doing so, she hopes not only to help others express how they feel, but to also help herself. Raised to be a emotionless soldier at a young age, Violet has trouble grasping basic human experiences and expressing her true feelings. Throughout the show, viewers watch her help others say how they feel, while she faces the same struggle along with flashbacks of her past It's an emotional rollercoaster, and anyone watching this should have tissues ready to catch their tears. It might look like any other romance anime, but it also has some nail-biting action scenes during Violet's flashbacks to her days as a soldier.

8 Devilman Crybaby

This grim, dark anime is not for the faint-hearted. Though it only features ten episodes, Devilman Crybaby packs a huge visual punch. His friend Ryo also helps him, but as the show goes on, Ryo's goals seem to clash with Akira's.
