Fans of Netflix and apocalyptic dramas have most likely watched All Of Us Are Dead, getting them in the mood for more vicious zombie action. However, Netflix zombie fans who want a taste of the living dead outside the school setting may delight in the fact that there’s more to zombie flicks than the horror of All Of Us Are Dead and its undead school drama.

In fact, there are a lot more Netflix movies and shows about the living dead that are just as terrifying for horror fans. Moreover, some of these zombie shows and films take place in vastly unique settings, including trains, the ancient past, and even in outer space! Here are some of the best zombie movies and shows on Netflix for All Of Us Are Dead fans.

7 Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness (2021)

Leon of Resident Evil Infinite Darkness

Fans of the Resident Evil series can find most of its films on one streaming service or another, but its most interesting entry is perhaps Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness. Set around the events after Resident Evil 4, this Resident Evil film reunites Claire Redfield and Leon Kennedy as they unravel a government conspiracy from two different lenses. And while this seems like a standard plot of a Resident Evil film, Infinite Darkness adds depth to Claire and Leon’s characters that other films just weren’t able to pull off.

Of all films, Infinite Darkness serves as a decent in-between from Leon’s stint as the government agent tasked with rescuing President Graham’s daughter, Ashley, and his being the go-to government agent for bioterror operations. Likewise, Infinite Darkness becomes Claire’s jumping-off point to take the fight against bioterror more seriously, despite her status as a civilian.

6 #Alive (2020)

The protagonist of Alive

It’s #Alive that depicts the awfully wrong timing to continue streaming a game amid a zombie outbreak, and this is exactly what happens to Oh Joon-woo, who is alone in his family’s apartment. It doesn’t take too long for him to realize that his immediate surroundings become overrun by zombies, and it’s up to him to stay alive as his family remains safe in a refuge.

Similar to other zombie flicks, #Alive shows a lone survivor’s fight for survival with limited food and resources. However, Oh Joon-woo is also just as crafty as he is desperate, showing how he makes creative use of his drones to scout areas and even distract zombies when necessary. Considering that a lot of millennials nowadays have a penchant to livestream their activities, #Alive seems to hit too close to home with how its zombie outbreak started.

5 Black Summer (2019)

The main cast of Black Summer

In most zombie flicks, people become stuck in the onset of a zombie apocalypse with nowhere left to run and nowhere left to hide. However, it’s not all the time that a zombie apocalypse’s highest stakes are in its drama, and this is what Black Summer manages to pull off. When the zombie apocalypse has begun plaguing the world for the past six weeks, Rose embarks on a journey to reunite with her daughter, Anna, who was separated at the start of the apocalypse.

To accomplish her journey, Rose must team up with an unlikely group of survivors and brave the dangerous wilds of North America during the deadliest parts of any apocalypse: its beginning. Unlike other zombie flicks that rely on zombies to generate suspense and thrill, it’s the ever-foreboding fear of a mother losing her child that fuels the suspense in Black Summer and what makes it such a must-watch.

4 Santa Clarita Diet (2017)

Hammonds of Santa Clarita Diet

In an odd twist to the zombie genre, Santa Clarita Diet answers an odd question: what happens if a person slowly shows signs of being a zombie? At the beginning of the Santa Clarita Diet, ordinary housewife Sheila Hammond confides in her husband Joel that she might be showing signs of being a zombie - such as a craving for human flesh and an altered personality leaning towards the impulsive and the primitive.

The show depicts the rather odd adventures and struggles of the Hammond family as Sheila copes with her new condition. And while the series is largely a family drama with a dash of comedy, Sheila’s ever-present condition remains a constant point of suspense that makes it quite an interesting series to watch from start to finish.

3 Army Of The Dead (2021)

The main cast of Army of the Dead

Zack Snyder tackles the zombie genre in a radically different way with Army Of The Dead, this time from the perspective of an action-filled heist with zombies at the far background and odd theories front and center. At its core, Army Of The Dead talks of the adventures of Scott Ward and his team, who are recruited by casino owner Bly Tanaka, who wants them to retrieve $200-million from his casino vault before Las Vegas is nuked by the government.

Unfortunately, Las Vegas is quarantined and cut off from the rest of the country as being ground zero to a zombie apocalypse. With money pretty much still being valuable, a $200-million sitting duck in a zombified city is easily a goldmine too hard to resist. However, Ward and his team realize that a conspiracy is afoot - with theories involving time travel, alien pathogens, and manufactured armies. At the end of the day, it’s the viewers who can only decide what they believe.

2 Kingdom (2019)

The protagonist of Kingdom

It’s one thing to survive a zombie apocalypse in the middle of a modern city, but it’s another thing entirely to be in the middle ages with no modern medicine or technology to back survivors. In Kingdom, this is entirely the case, as it’s set in the 16th Century when a medieval-inspired Joseon is at the hands of Crown Prince Lee Chang, who needs to save his kingdom from a plague he simply thought was a disease that his father caught. And it doesn’t help that his enemies are just as motivated to steal the throne from him during this crisis.

This blending of political intrigue and zombie elements makes Kingdom such a compelling show to watch. It’s also quite interesting to see how people in medieval times would think about such a disease when the word “zombie” isn’t exactly known as it is in modern times.

1 The Silent Sea (2021)

The Silent Sea characters

When a zombie apocalypse happens anywhere on Earth, survivors have access to a plethora of safe havens and any range of what’s left of resources in groceries and houses. However, in the dangerous vacuum of space, the threat of zombies might seem like guaranteed death. Such is the case of The Silent Sea, which tells a story of humans desperate to solve the crisis of a future Earth undergoing extreme desertification.

The story of The Silent Sea stars scientist Song Ji-An, who joins a crew of elite personnel to take samples from the Moon - specifically from the Balhae Station, an abandoned research facility in the Moon’s Sea of Tranquility. Unfortunately, things go immediately awry when Ji-An and her team soon realize they’ve unwittingly become wrapped around a web of lies surrounding their mission and the nature of their visit.
