While fans are still abuzz about Zack Snyder's upcoming Snyder cut of Justice League, the superhero director also has a few other movies up his sleeve. One of his other upcoming projects is Army of the Dead, which has slowly been ramping up its hype cycle for a few months new, and will eventually drop on Netflix. It seems that that advertising budget is really starting to show now, as Netflix has just dropped it's first real teaser of the film on Youtube.

Despite all the news and discussion around the film, no substantial footage has actually been seen of the project up until now, with the biggest news and headlines centered on casting news and images of the actors in costume. A short synopsis had been released at some point, but other than that, no one had seen the film in motion until now.

For those who haven't kept up: Army of the Dead is a zombie action film, but also a heist movie. A group of mercenaries team up for their biggest job ever: breaking into a zombie infested Las Vegas for the score of a life time, a job that is both insanely dangerous, and could turn an insane profit.

The teaser trailer gives fans their first look at a zombie-infested Vegas, and a glimpse at the chaos of the densely packed lightshow of a city getting ripped apart by hordes of undead. It's certainly playing into the gaudy, flashy nature of the city: slot machines light up and pour coins over people getting ripped apart, mercenaries run across tables in a casino, and a zombie Elvis impersonator stumbles through the streets.

As the teaser opens it puts Snyder's name front and center as well, reminding audiences of his work on Man of Steel and the Dawn of the Dead remake, which establishes some of his zombie cred. Between all the zombie action, impressive vistas, and over-the-top action scenes in the trailer, it seems that Army of the Dead isn't pulling any punches with the setup or premise of its story.

While this is just a teaser, there will likely be a more thorough trailer drop at some point, but frankly, the film is rather self-explanatory, and all it really needs to sell itself is some proof that it'll live up to the concept. If this teaser is anything to go by, the film will certainly be a fun romp, and fans can look forward to the official drop on Netflix very soon.

Army of the Dead hits Netflix on May 21.
