Fans of the mega-hit Fortnite will be able to bring some of the game's weapons to the real world in the near future. In a cryptic announcement, NERF has revealed that it's working on a line of weaponry straight from the game.

NERF posted its reveal on Instagram, although the company is keeping quiet on exactly which weapons from Fortnite would be coming to NERF's line of safe foam and rubber blasters. The announcement also didn't explain when gamers could expect to find the blasters in stores, but a similar reveal from parent company Hasbro previously stated that the line would be coming in the Spring of 2019.

The lack of information regarding the release may be disconcerting to some. NERF has previously announced its plans to produce weapons from Overwatch, and is starting out with blasters based upon Reaper's Hellfire shotgun and D.Va's Light Gun from Blizzard's FPS. However, the prototype versions of those weapons were unveiled months ago, and they also have a suggested release of Spring 2019, whereas NERF hasn't yet produced so much as a list of which weapons from Fortnite are making the cut. However, if the Overwatch NERF prototypes are any indication, Fortnite fans should be able to expect faithful replicas of whichever weapons are ultimately chosen.

One possibility for Hasbro and NERF remaining quiet about which guns will be produced could be because some of them have only very recently been added to the game. Fortnite is constantly receiving updates which bring new guns and accessories to the game, including the latest weapons released for Fortnitemares 2018. With the promotion for the Fortnite NERF guns dropping now, it could mean that the company will soon be able to show off what's been in the works.

While it may come as a surprise that Hasbro would skip the big holiday shopping rush, the company is likely banking on Fortnite's popularity not running out anytime soon. The game has amassed hundreds of millions of players and that number is likely to expand further, as the game has just recently left beta on Android. With such a large audience of players, there should be plenty of people interested in NERF's Fortnite line regardless of when it releases.

Fortnite is available now for Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
