What started as a cult classic DS game has now gotten a Nintendo Switch and PS4 sequel with NEO: The World Ends With You, which keeps the same vibe as the original, just with a fresh coat of paint. While there are many changes in NEO: The World Ends With You, there are still plenty of interesting characters and wacky riddles players have to figure out.
One of these riddles being to find a character named Ryoji. Instead of giving players his phone number, Ryoji has spread out multiple clues in NEO: The World Ends With You to figure out the digits to his personal line.
In total, there are five clues to solve for all of the digits, each with its own confusing puzzle. So for NEO: The World Ends With You fans needing some assistance figuring out one of the first digits to Ryoji's number, here is how to solve his riddle.
To start, players need to find a maintenance hole cover in the city, as indicated by the title "A hole in the crossing." The street with the specific utility hole is right under the building with the blue DHC billboard attached to it. Fans will know they are in the right place when two exclamation marks pop up, triggering a cutscene.
Once discovered, players will then scan the barcode on the manhole that has a sticker of a heart attached to wings. Once scanned, they will be sent to a "spot the difference" puzzle with a picture of a different location in town that is in the middle of a park. Then, they should notice that the statue in the picture is different from the one in the real world. The one in the real world is a statue of Hachi the dog, while the one in the puzzle is a picture of a man. Move the arrow to the statue and click on it to complete the NEO: The World Ends With You riddle.
After solving the puzzle, another cutscene will pop up, and the player's party will find out that one of the digits they are looking for is the number two. Hopefully, this guide gives fans a head start in figuring out the rest of the puzzles and what the best way to approach them is. After solving all the clues, players need to use the phone booth in Tower Records Shibuya. They simply need to arrange the numbers from largest to smallest, and they should be able to call Ryoji and complete this NEO: The World Ends With You quest.
