Ahead of its release next month, Need for Speed Unbound's official soundtrack has been revealed, featuring music from artists such as A$AP Rocky, Royce Da 5'9", Pusha T, Kanye West, Jay-Z, and many more. What's more, Need for Speed Unbound also features several smaller artists to help players discover new music, with there being a grand total of 70 songs from 25 countries. Using its platform to highlight artists is a great move by EA and Criterion Games, but despite this, there's one popular, contemporary artist that feels missing from the soundtrack: Dax.

Daniel "Dax" Nwosu Jr. is a Nigerian Canadian rapper, whose music career began to blow up around 2017. He's really only been on the music scene for five years, more or less, but has managed to accumulate a following of 4.7M followers on YouTube. For comparison, Need for Speed Unbound's A$AP Rocky has 4.79M on that platform. Many have been following Dax's promising career from the start, with many early fans often recalling how he would rap about being a janitor during his fledgling career and many would even joke that he could "afford a shirt" after his career blew up.

Most recently, many music fans may have noticed a viral trend of Tiktok where users would stitch his lyrics from the song "Joker" and play out their reaction, using his words. Another is when his song "Dear Alcohol" went viral, with many artists attaching their own verses that would end up in official remixes. Dax is easily one of the best contemporary artists right now, with a wide range of music to suit him. Understandably, some of his music would not fit the game the best like "Dear Alcohol," while certain remixes may be too complicated in terms of licensing.

Perhaps it has something to do with his lyrical focus, but at the same time, he's able to spit bars so fast to an excellent beat that it would meld into the brain during intense racing moments, instead of detracting from it. Plenty of his beats stand on their own, too. It's entirely possible Need for Speed Unbound's EA or Criterion Games didn't even consider or approach Dax, which is a mistake. He has a huge following, but despite the praise, he is often underrated on the music scene.

Need for Speed Unbound: The Best Dax Songs for High-Speed Gameplay

There are a lot of tracks Need for Speed Unbound's gameplay would be perfectly complemented by Dax's music. Even one of the following would fit in perfectly; now, with the official soundtrack out, it's unlikely to happen unless there was some form of DLC. But no matter what, players could also play their quieten the music, put on some Dax, and enjoy a plethora of high-speed songs while racing the streets. These would be the best:

*Please note: these songs contain adult lyrics, themes, and other elements*

  • Dax's "Super Gremlin" Freestyle
  • Dax's Eminem "Venom" Remix
  • Dax's Dr. Dre ft. Eminem "Forgot About Dre" Remix
  • Dax - "The Next Rap God" 10-Minute One-Take
  • Dax - "The Next Rap God 2" 20-Minute One-Take
  • Dax - "Wack Ass Rappers" Freestyle
  • Dax - "No Cappin'"
  • Dax ft. Tech N9NE "Faster"
  • Dax ft. Futuristic "No Respect"
  • Dax - "Self-Proclaimed 2"
  • Dax ft. Emiway "I Been That"
  • Dax - "Be Your F*cking Self"

Whether this is just a missed opportunity or something that Need for Speed Unbound can eventually rectify, Dax deserves his place on these soundtracks. They are major representations of the genre and the surrounding culture, and no one has defined that today as much as Dax has.
