Power forwards have become a hot commodity in recent years. Superstars like Kevin Durant and Karl-Anthony Towns have shifted from other positions to play the power forward spot. The league is hungry to get their most athletic players in the most athletic position and that's true in NBA 2K23 as well.
Teams that missed out on finding the power forward of their dreams in NBA 2K23 haven't given up hope and a player in MyCareer can be exactly what they need to compete. For a select few teams, gamers can take a team to the championship they desire within just a year or two.
Updated on June 27th, 2023 by Hodey Johns: With the NBA season concluded, it appears the game has delivered one final verdict when it comes to player rating and roster adjustments. After the Finals concluded a series of trades and draft picks were made but NBA 2K23 has not made any changes. This stands to reason since these transitions will reflect on NBA 2K24 instead of this installment. The reason this is significant is that, without any more adjustments to the roster, gamers can now start a career in this game, pick a team, and not have to worry about getting bumped in the depth chart or having playing minutes reduced after a big trade goes down. This is probably the best time to start a MyCareer and this list will not need any further adjustments as any future changes will be reserved for NBA 2K24.

If this list has only one team on it, it would be the 76ers. Tucker is tied for the worst power forward in the league by overall rating. At a 75, he is easy to replace on day one. From there, this team is ready to go, complete with two basketball legends.
The Philadelphia 76ers are one power forward short of winning it all. And they knew it, too. They've been trying to find talent at the spot for the last few years and it just hasn't worked out. By getting a power forward with the best defense and rebounding badges in the game, the 76ers will finally get over the heartbreak and win the big one.

The Jazz offloaded a lot of talent in the off-season and yet found that the group of players they acquired gelled quickly. This is a young team with lots of talent and upside. The one weak link is Olynyk at power forward. His 79 is easy to surpass early on in the first season.
Nobody on this team is going to dominate statistically but they all do their jobs. For players that want to be the undisputed star of the team, Utah is a perfect fit. They won't blow any games and they'll let the MyPlayer be the main attraction. With a perfectly designed custom jump shot, players can be the main scorer in Utah.

Brooklyn recently unloaded all three of its superstars. The tough-luck Nets appear to be in the middle of a rebuild which is usually the type of situation players want to avoid. But there isn't a reason to let the team bottom out. After replacing Finney-Smith with his 77 rating, the rest of the team is 80+.
They need some big-time help at the power forward position that the MyPlayer can provide. With some important playmaking badges, the MyPlayer can get some of these players more meaningfully involved. Great gamers will find that nobody here competes for the spotlight, so expect to get some MVP nods as early as season one.

The Clippers made the investments to win a championship but they're still missing one glaring piece. Four players on the roster are going to be getting it done on a regular basis but Morris at power forward needs to do better than a 75 rating.
With the MyPlayer standing in at the spot, this team can finally realize their dream. Los Angeles can score, pass, and rebound at multiple levels. Maybe grab some top-tier finishing badges and go for the dunks or attack from the perimeter. The Clippers don't need a specific kind of great player, they just need a great player.

Without anybody beneath 80 (outside of the 78 power forward) or above 84, the Pistons are a solidly average team. There aren't any names that will carry the team here but also nobody really stealing the show. It's a blank canvas of a team in dire need of an identity.
The team in Detroit will take anybody. Stretch bigs will find that acquiring a few amazing shooting badges will mean some easy league scoring titles since the rest of the team won't help out too much on this front. Or gamers can decide to take the route of a do-it-all power forward who gets the whole team involved with some tricky passing.
NBA 2K23 is available now for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch.
