NBA 2K22 is turning up the heat in MyTeam Season 5, releasing a limited event to obtain new Green and Gold Rush rewards. Along with the campaign, two Dark Matter NBA 2K22 cards hit the market, a new series is introduced with a featured pack, and players have a series of Locker codes to take advantage of.
Basketball fans were overwhelmed with the amount of new content announced for NBA 2K22, however with it comes increased playability with the MyTeam modes. With several new units now obtainable by buying packs or earning them as rewards, Season 5 of MyTeam appears to be heating things up.
In the limited event, players will assemble NBA 2K22 teams consisting of up to five Emerald cards, and the remainder required to be Gold level, with a stipulation added that no cards have the Free Agent tag. Both Emerald and Gold cards are relatively cheap and easy to obtain, allowing players to purchase them from the marketplace at a low cost to participate in the campaign. Each week players can earn one ring, but the current week's rewards range from Tokens, an Amethyst Paul Pierce, and a Pink Diamond Larry Bird. If a player obtains all five rings, they can obtain the championship ring, which rewards a player with a Galaxy Opal 98 OVR Demarcus Cousins
Debuting March 18, 2022, NBA 2K22 released a brand-new series titled "Bracket Busters." which features players who had large impacts during their college days. The grades of these cards rank anywhere from Dark Matter to Ruby, and players can obtain these items in Deluxe Packs, which guarantee buyers at least one unit per pack. The Single Bracket Busters Pack and Deluxe Pack cost 1,250 VC or 15,750 MT, while the Bracket Busters Ten Pack Box (Deluxe) costs 135,000 VC. Up for grabs are units such as a 99-overall Dark Matter Steph Curry, a 98-overall Galaxy Opal Tim Duncan, and a 96-overall Pink Diamond Tyler Hansbrough.
If this wasn't enough to get basketball gamers excited, 2K Games released a series of Locker codes, packed with tons of quality items to obtain for free. Entering the code BRACKET-BUSTERS-IN-MyTEAM will earn players a Bracket Busters Pack, Clutch Shooter Badge Pack, or five tokens. The 250K-DARK-MATTER-LEBRON-NDRMK will grant players a free 99-overall Dark Matter LeBron James as part of a six-card set. Finally, the MYTEAM-250K-OPAL-OPTION-PACK gives players the choice between Galaxy Opal Allan Houston, Amar'e Stoudemire, Monta Ellis, Pete Maravich, or Yi Jianlian.
NBA 2K22 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
