The latest NBA 2K22 Player Ratings update is now live and is the first since 2K Games' February update. The massive list of affected players experienced either an increase or decrease in their overall rating. The update also takes into account the latest real-life performances of each player on the court, be it positive or negative. In total, 118 players have new overall ratings, and 48 of them saw a drop, anywhere from one point to Darius Garland's and Dwight Howard's minus-3. The monthly update leaves no stone unturned, and 2K Games is constantly hard at work with ensuring NBA 2K22 player ratings are balanced and reflect what occurs in the NBA.RELATED: $5m Lawsuit Filed Against Take-Two Interactive Over NBA 2K MicrotransactionsThe most notable increase goes to Utah Jazz Jordan Clarkson, who was given an 8-point bump to an 85 overall. The San Antonio native put up 45 points on the board last weekend, so it was only a matter of time before his overall received a boost. Trae Young's 5-point increase brings him to a 95 overall, while Kevin Durant is up to 97, three points up from his original 94 rating. The improved ratings affect each player's abilities and statistics within modes like recently-updated MyCareer and MyTeam modes.

From the list, 43 players received a one-point increase to their totals, with a handful of players making the jump from the 70s into the 80s. 2K Games is wasting no time with both player ratings and new introductions into the game, including the debut of Paolo Banchero into NBA 2K22 a few weeks ago. The title continuously receives improvements and additions throughout the NBA season, and players are taking notice of the effort put forward by the developer. Whether it's offline or online, the monthly updates towards player ratings give gamers a realistic approach to the game itself and one that reflects what they see on the court.

Lately, the news surrounding NBA 2K22 has seen better days, and the updates serve as a minor distraction. Most recently, a $5 million lawsuit was filed against Take-Two Interactive, bringing to light the game's predatory microtransaction system. While NBA 2K22 isn't the only one guilty of running a system that promotes spending obscene amounts of money on in-game items, the issue is magnified when minors are involved, which is common in the world of video gaming. Fortunately, with the latest roster updates coming out and new Dark Matter cards hitting the marketplace, the focus is trending in a positive direction for the time being.

NBA 2K22 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
