The legendary Sony-owned developer behind the Uncharted and Last of Us series, Naughty Dog, has recently announced a number of job openings and opportunities that are currently available. This highlighting of what the company is hiring for has some fans wondering what the next game Naughty Dog is developing might be, with many pointing out a few specific positions as hints for this upcoming title.

Altogether, there are 34 new positions, and the initial open call for resumes from Naughty Dog has also been shared by The Last of Us writer and director and Co-President Neil Druckmann. As a result, fans have quickly begun to assume that these job openings might be related to a sequel to the 2020 Game of the Year winner, since this is what Druckmann is most generally known for.

Many of these opportunities are for artists, animators, and programmers, with many of the positions leaning towards development of the graphics and cinematics for a new title. So, it is then possible that Naughty Dog could be building up the company to prepare for a follow up to the highly cinematic Last of Us 2 after the success of the game in 2020. Though, it is entirely possible that the developer could also be working towards a completely new IP as well, meaning this is still up to speculation until an official announcement.

This isn't actually the first time since the release of The Last of Us 2 released that Naughty Dog has begun hiring for whatever is the next project the company is working on might be. If Druckmann's own words can be believed though, this next run of job placements is looking to be for a new title that fans may already be excited to see. Aside from these specific job openings, the developer also appears to be accepting general applications, so any skilled developers can still apply if their specialty doesn't appear on the list.

Many of these positions might be a dream position for artists and programmers looking to work on one of the highly cinematic titles that the developer has become known for. However, Naughty Dog's reputation for crunch is a factor for many who might be on the fence about whether or not to pursue these opportunities and the pros and cons that come with them. Of course, this isn't necessarily a deal breaker for everyone interested, and it's likely that these positions could fill up quickly.
