'Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2' Trailer is Beyond Impressive

Wind Element: RasenShuriken

Just when you thought that the promotional trailers for Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 could not possibly get any cooler, Namco Bandai and CyberConnect 2 have just released this ridiculously epic trailer that will be sure to have you ninja-running on water!

The trailer opens up with a very memorable quote from Pain right as he is floating atop the Hidden Leaf Village. After he proceeds to state that the world will know Pain, he uses his Almighty Push jutsu to completely decimate the village. Saying that the entire village was destroyed would have to be an understatement after his "God-like" technique changes the landscape of the once prosperous Leaf Village. As the trailer goes through scenes showing Sakura suffering from total despair at the sight around her, pay very close attention to the incredibly sad and somber song that is playing in the background.

Of course, what type of dire situation would any person be in if no one cries out for the hero to come and save everyone? Dragon Ball Z, anyone? After Sakura very convincingly cries out for Naruto to return to the village, the next scene shows evidence of an immense summoning. This summoning is so massive that the "summoning smoke" engulfs a good bit of the battlefield. A slow reveal finally brings about Naruto's return and he has come to settle the score!

Anyone who hasn't been following the Naruto manga or anime should know that Pain, who is the villain that the trailer focuses on at the beginning, had recently killed Naruto's master, Jiraiya, who can be seen fighting Pain back in this trailer. Ironically enough, Pain was also a former student of Jiraiya but has totally rejected his master's teachings and is on a mission to not only kidnap Naruto, but wants to see to it that the entire world knows pain.

Naruto vs. The Six Paths of Pain

Next, the trailer begins to highlight some of the over 40 characters that are featured in the game, including Killer Bee, who possesses the 8-tailed beast. Other fan-favorites like Sai, Orochimaru, and more recently, Konan were also shown. If you have played the previous Ultimate Ninja Storm, you know that this series is known for throwing you into boss battles that are on a very large and sometimes challenging scale. Catching some glimpses of Naruto's fight with both Kazuku as well as Kakashi give you a great preview of what exactly you are in store for.

A great benefit of checking out the trailer is that you get to see what the story mode looks like, specifically running throughout the Leaf Village or traveling to other ninja villages and battlefields. One of the biggest and best moments in the trailer is a quick snippet of the fight between Sasuke and his brother Itachi, the two last surviving members of the Uchiha clan. To top that off, we also get a very short, but nostalgic look at Naruto facing off against Sasuke, his best friend and rival.

If after reading that description, you're feeling the need to go out and fight some ninja, a better idea would be to watch the trailer below:

This has got to be one of the best trailers for a Naruto game that has ever been released. One of the best parts about the trailer was the original music that will be featured in the game. I dare say that some of the music could have been switched out in certain scenes of the anime, and it would make made for even better fights. Say what you want about anime-style games, but there is no denying that this game looks to be a serious contender among fighting games.

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 is scheduled to be released in North America on October 19th for both the PS3 and Xbox 360.
