Thanks to Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage, fans of the Naruto franchise can finally bring the action-packed nature of the series right on their mobile phones. In this Naruto game, players not just collect Naruto characters but also customize them with unique ninja cards that denote some of their signature moves. That way, players create extremely dynamic teams of three that they can use in jaw-dropping match-ups. However, in every team that can dish out strong attacks, they need a reliable support character to back them up.

Given the fact that Ninja Voltage is a tactical RPG, it’s without a doubt that some of its characters are Healers. However, just which of these Healers are competent enough to become an ever-reliable component in a party?

6 Konan

Konan

One of the founders of the Akatsuki, Konan isn’t just someone who can manipulate paper to cause damage, but may also heal allies in Ninja Voltage. Her healing isn’t immediately potent, however, being accessible only as a large heal via her L4 (Foundation for Peace) that also gives allies minor resistances. Regardless, when combined with her array of damaging abilities, Konan becomes an ever-reliable healing/damage hybrid.

Despite her inherent weak base stats, Konan is a decent healer if she finds herself well-protected. She can proc heals much faster compared to other characters, allowing her to protect her teammates in a pinch. In a manual control scenario, players can have Karin stay out of danger and continue their supports to ensure her safety.

5 Karin

Karin

One of the few direct descendants of the Uzumaki Clan, Karin of Sasuke’s Taka group remains one of the more underrated characters of the series. Her chakra perception and healing potential in the franchise make her a force to reckon with, something that extends to her defensive techniques in the Naruto game. Her L1 Jutsus immediately give her decent healing (Perception) and may inflict a debuff or stun (Nuisance Begone), with boosted healing (Collecting Sasuke’s Personal Belongings) and debuffs (Water Is Splashing…!) at L3. Lastly, her L4 Jutsu (Karin’s Seduction) can also boost her teammates’ speed.

Karin’s status a Rogue Shinobi definitely extends to her toolkit, as she’s both a capable fighter and support unit. Aside from access to her two healing kits, Karin is able to debuff enemies, ensuring allies are able to remove them out of the picture pretty quickly.

4 Shizune

Shizune

Ever the reliable assistant, Shizune is by no means just a secretary to the powerful Hokage Tsunade. Rather, Shizune is a bodyguard with both a healing and poisons expertise that isn’t to trifle with. She immediately has access to potent skills at L1 via a defense-booster (Please give our seal of approval!) and large heals (Medical Ninja Skill). She can access a similar heal (Quiet Shizune) and defense boost (Dangling Dribble) at L2. Her L3 (Eeek!!!) can poison enemies, her L4 (Spite for Orchimaru) can stun foes, and her L5 (Shizune and Tonton) can remove and nullify status ailments towards allies.

Considering her toolkit, Shizune has more utilities nifty for a support unit especially with her Ninja Tools. While her healing isn’t as potent, her poisons and stuns can debilitate enemy movement, paving the way for a counter-offensive by her allies.

3 Tsunade

Tsunade

Perhaps considered the proponent of Medical Ninjutsu, it makes sense for Tsunade to be among the best Healer characters in the Naruto game, with a toolkit that reflects her competence. What sets Tsunade apart from other Healers in the game is that her potent heals are already complemented with a variety of immense damage-dealing attacks. In terms of heals, she has access to an L1 large heal (Worried Tsunade), an L3 large heal (A Right Hand Held Out), and an L5 heal-over-time (A Shinobi’s Back). She even has a debuff remover (L5, A Shinobi’s Back), and a temporary invincibility (L5, Something Terrible Is Going To Happen).

Despite having a rather slow heal, Tsunade can outlast a lot of foes in the game with her skills. Her Ultmate alone allows her to dodge other powerful attacks and grant invincibility, and her ever-reliable healing helps big damage dealers survive tough incursions.

Naruto Kurama Link Mode

When Naruto finally makes peace with his Tailed Beast Kurama, he grants access to his powers in a Naruto transformation called Kurama Link Mode. This makes an appearance in the Naruto gacha title as one of the most potent Healer/Damage hybrids in the game. On top of his attacks, KLM Naruto has various medium heals (L1, A Reliable Presence and L3, Lending Strength). When used properly, KLM Naruto can be a reliable frontliner with emergency healing.

While KLM Naruto is a great damage dealer, his potential as a Healer isn’t to be trifled. Aside from his decent heals, Naruto can also remove damage-over-time. Not only that, when timed correctly, KLM Naruto’s rotation may be able to cure status ailments and grant team invincibility.

1 Sakura Haruno

Sakura

Despite her lack of a rather special lineage, Sakura Haruno proves herself to be a worthy candidate of being Hokage Tsunade’s student. Among the Naruto cast, Sakura is probably one of the smartest, while at the same time boasting a rather monstrous strength. She has an L1 attack buff (So, you do have a soft side), and medium heals at L1 (Emergency Operation) and L3 (Disciple of the Fifth Hokage!). She even has a defense debuff for enemies (L4, …Thanks), and a crit buff (L4, Outta the Way!). These are on top of her already-impressive damage toolkit.

Sakura’s toolkit in Ninja Voltage proves that a Healer can support but also get in the front lines. A fully-built Sakura possesses a nifty debuff to destabilize foes and an Ultimate that does damage, allowing her to become a secondary damage builder.

Naruto X Boruto: Ninja Voltage was released in 2017 for iOS and Android.
