Dominating the Enemy

My Hero Academia Season 6 Episode 3 Ms Midnight and Kamui Woods Team Edge Shot

Edge Shot's ingenious assault on the Paranormal Liberation Front involves creating a small puncture wound in several enemies' lungs; not large enough to cause instant fatalities, but those who value their lives have to cease and sudden movements. To subdue the villainous crowd even further, Ms. Midnight used her magic touch to render the enemy unconscious with her pretty pink sleepy Quirk, Somnambulist.

Kamui Woods is up next, and his wooden tendrils are perfect for restraining an entire hoard of villains with his Pre-emptive Binding Lacquered Chain Prison, while the final blow is delivered by a team-up between Mudman and Shemage (aka Kinoko Komori.) The enemy is incapacitated once the ground softens like sunkissed butter while Kinoko overwhelms them all with noxious spore-producing mushrooms. With the bulk of The Paranormal Liberation's frontline of defense currently out of commission, the rest of the heroes begin to enter the compound to deal some damage.

Once Bitten, Twice Shy

My Hero Academia Season 6 Episode 3 Jin Bubaigawara aka Twice vs Hawks

One of the most emotional battles in My Hero Academia occurs between two new friends who participate in a gutwrenching showdown to the death. The minute conflict began to get underway, Hawks makes a beeline for his buddy Bubaigawara, surrounding him with lethal feathers while he slumbers. Poor Twice cannot believe his eyes, immediately blaming himself for trusting the traitorous hero, and is overwhelmed with shame regarding his role in the matter. This will be the second time that Twice's faith was placed in the wrong man and has caused his beloved friends to suffer for his misjudgments once again.

It is clear that Hawks has grown rather fond of Bubaigawara along the way, and offers the disturbed man a shot at redemption, knowing full well that he is a truly good guy deep down. Twice's hatred for heroes cannot be quelled and so he begins creating an army of doubles, which Hawks quickly eliminates with minimal effort. In a surprising twist, Hawks admits that he will have to kill his new friend in order to stop him, even though lethal bloodshed is prohibited for Heroes.

Once again, the audience cannot help but sympathize with the villain as Bubaigawara tearfully grapples with his guilt as his heart simultaneously overflows with love for his self-made family; the only people to ever show him kindness in this cruel world. He reminisces about how Giran taught him how to trust people again, reassuring Bubaigawara of his worth before introducing him to the Vanguard Action Squad. Twice demonstrates his exceptionally heroic virtues by risking everything to protect his loved ones, with little regard for his own personal safety.

The Dabbling Dabi

My Hero Academia Season 6 Episode 6 Dabi, Hawks, Himiko and Twice Bubaigawara's Death

Just as Hawks is about to deliver the final blow, Dabi rocks up at the scene and instantly takes control of the conflict with his icy flames. Viewers witness the crimson-winged Hero struggling for the first time as he is continuously overwhelmed by the raging flames, but he has a one-track mind that is completely focused on Bubaigawara. Hawks is doing the best he can to incapacitate Twice without causing too much fatal damage, as he would like nothing more than to bring his friend in alive and convince him to abandon his villainous ways. On the other hand, Dabi doesn't seem to care if his flames devour both Bubaigawara and Hawks, so long as the job is completed.

Twice is barely able to move but still manages to get a clone out into the fight, which races to Himiko and Spinners' rescue just in time, mercilessly slaughtering Eel Boy with only a few moments to spare to say a final farewell. The double ensures his companions know exactly how much they mean to him (dear Himiko in particular), before dissolving into a puddle of sludge as the real Bubaigawara takes his last blood-soaked breath.

Fatgum and Fumikage

My Hero Academia Season 6 Episode 6 Fatgum, Suneater and Fimikage Takafumi

So far, all of the outer exits at the Paranormal Liberations Front's base of operations have been sealed off while the enemy hides out in a secret basement. Suneater accompanies Fatgum and Fimikage Tokoyami on their mission and expertly disables any stragglers with his epic Chimera Centaur transformation and (politely) clears a path for his allies. While Fatgum stands guard, Tokoyami and Dark Shadow enter the depths of the Villa and quickly track down the secret hideout before they are blocked by the colossal bulk of Re-Destro's Quirk. Thankfully, Dark Shadow somehow manages to push through and seal the enemy underground, however, he is practically quivering with fear after laying eyes on Shigaraki's newest monstrous minion, Gigantomachia.

Next Up: "Inheritance"

My Hero Academia Shigaraki

Even though Dabi seems to be the perfect counter for the No. 2 Hero, Hawks is not about to admit defeat any time soon. The battle between fire and feathers intensifies at Gunga Mountain Villa, but there appears to be much more action taking place back at Jaku Hospital. Mirko, Crest, and the others are still trying to eliminate the High-End Nomus, but it seems their efforts may be fruitless against the resurrection powers of the overpowered Super Regeneration Quirk. All hope is placed in Eraser Head's abilities; but does one man have what it takes to incapacitate the monstrous beasts? The Heroes better speed things up big time, as it looks like Shigaraki is about ready to wake from his slumber, and who knows what that young man is now capable of!
