The following content contains spoilers for My Hero Academia Season 6, episode 15, currently streaming on Crunchyroll. The second cours of My Hero Academia Season 6 starts with a foreboding and melancholic tone, as the few remaining Heroes dug through the various disaster zones, finding as many survivors as possible. As the injured, mutilated, and dead bodies began to pile up, medical resources and optimism began to run dry.

While Shigaraki succeeded in causing physical destruction, while Dabi attacked the very essence of Hero Society; together, they seem to have toppled the system, possibly for good. The "possessed" Symbol of Fear (who will be referred to as AFO-Shigaraki) and his team may be a bit battered and bruised; however, there are enough Villaneous forces left to continue with the onslaught. All For One has no intention of allowing the Hereos a moment's peace while they recuperate.

"The Dark Side of Quirk Society"

My Hero Academia Season 6 Episode 15 review Nomus and Shigaraki attack Tartarus

Keeping superpowered criminals contained and incapacitated is a grand task indeed, so the impenetrable Counter-Quirk Maximum Security Prison, aka Tartarus, was built on an island with 5km separating them from land. Furthermore, the prison is divided into six underground levels where the more dangerous the Quirk and horrid the crime, the deeper down one takes residents, where not many keen eyes are watching, and whose inhabitants aren’t expected to be seen alive again.

It is now 8 PM at the Bronze Gate, and there is unrest among the guards, who are questioning Endeavor's virtue by assuming he willingly allowed Shigaraki to escape along with the other 132 Villains and seven Near-High End Nomus, while 145 Heroes are left to deal with their injuries. Out of nowhere, the Nomus attack, killing Briareous within moments but grating Gyges enough time to call for backup. AFO-Shigaraki arrives on the scene to take down any stragglers, and blood flows through the streets yet again.

"Dead or Alive"

My Hero Academia Season 6 Episode 15 review All For One and Shigaraki

Moments before at 7.57 PM, the guards monitoring the Deepest Stratum, called Tartarus B-10, are in a deep discussion concerning how out of hand the Villains have become. Apparently, Gigantomachia should have just been killed on the scene instead of arrested, as his monstrous, unsightly Quirk cannot be considered human (and therefore deserves to be put out of his misery.) These sentiments fall more in line with the Heteromorph haters than any respectable authority figure, which is worrying, to say the least. Suddenly, all hell breaks loose as Nomus attack the gate, and the instructions are given to take down Shigaraki with fatal means if necessary.

Meanwhile, Shigaraki's battle is both internal and external, as the young tyrant has awakened to a certain degree and is demanding that All For One relinquishes control of his body. The Big Bad attempts to comfort his host by telling him to "rest up," as freedom is on the horizon, once Shigaraki's Super Regeneration is at full capacity. Behind closed doors, however, the faux-nurturing is revealed to show the youngster bound and tied by what looks to be a form of Rivet Stab, while the nefarious All For One looms over his prey, taunting his hostage for attempting to satisfy his hated with power.

Back in the real world, AFO-Shigaraki's deadly touch causes his Decay to run rampant, while his Search Quirk conveniently locates All For One's precise position. The next step is to unleash a disruptive Radio Waves pulse to take out all communications and technology, while the double-edged sword works from within with an EMP attack of his own. Tartarus gets owned by both sides as All For One and AFO-Shigaraki are finally reunited, while the rest of the diabolical prisoners run rampant through the jail, causing further death and destruction in their wake.

Known escapees:

  • All For One
  • Muscular
  • Moonfish
  • Overhaul
  • Lady Nagant, and more.

"Let's Crush Hero Society"

My Hero Academia Season 6 Episode 15 review Spinner and Shigaraki

All For One leads his newfound troops to land by infiltrating Tartarus' Emergency Aircrafts, and just six hours Later, the next wave of repercussions makes its way to seven penitentiaries (including Shian, Bagu, and Kuin Prison) where more lawbreakers find liberation.

By 5.04 AM, AFO-Shigaraki and his gang regroup and assess the situation, and while all seems well in the world (by All For One's standards), Spinner can't help but long for Stain and Shigaraki's leadership, and his former League of Villains instead. The imposter reassures Spinner that Shigaraki will return once he is "complete," which suggests that the finalization of Dr. Ujiko's upgrade is still possible. However, will there be any Tomura left by that stage?

"Please Stay Calm"

My Hero Academia Season 6 Episode 15 review Bakugo and Shoto in Central Hospital

Two Days later at the High-Care facility of Central Hospital, Bakugo awakens with a start and begins questioning Minoru and the gang about everybody's status. Most of the heroes are on the mend; however, Shoto Todoroki, Gran Torino, Shota Aizawa, Endeavor and a comatose Deku, and several others, are still undergoing critical treatment.

While the Heroes fight for their lives, the ungracious civilians riot in the streets, showing how much damage Dabi's interference has truly caused. Shoto realizes that his father doesn't stand a chance against those potent blue flames and silently vows to personally take down his brother, just as his other siblings walk in, accompanied by, presumably, their mother, Rei.

Disjointed Delinquants

My Hero Academia Season 6 Episode 14 review Villains Stain, All For One, Shigaraki, Lady Nagant, Overhaul

Surprisingly, Kurogiri has yet to be mentioned in the Villains' mission, although he is no longer incarcerated in Tartarus and is under investigation at Central Hospital (ironically, where the injured students and Pro-Heroes are currently also receiving treatment.) The question remains, is All For One planning on recovering his favorite warping Nomu for his schemes? And what about the versatile Himiko Toga? Furthermore, Hero Killer: Stain is also briefly seen staring in horror as the Villains rampage through the prison hallways, clearly not thrilled with this violent turn of events, while Overhaul catches a lucky break; another one with a score to settle with Shigaraki.

Lady Nagant has been teasing fans in the 2nd cours intro scene and has finally made an appearance; however, she too does not seem very pleased with the discharge of countless mass murderers. As much as the Villains currently have the upper hand in the Paranormal Liberation War, there is clearly a strong divide between the forces, who don't all seem to follow the Symbol of Evil's senseless-violence mantra. Freeing all these criminals may just be All For One's downfall in the end thanks to his overconfident assumptions, the mother of all mistakes! All bets are now placed on Best Jeanist and Hawks' success, as they round up as many potent jailbirds as possible in "The Hellish Todoroki Family, Part 2."
