The following content contains spoilers from Season 6, episode 10 of My Hero Academia, currently streaming on Crunchyroll. It took some time for Shigaraki to finally get his hands on Eraser Head and, although the deleter round proved to be ineffective (thanks to Aizawa's rapid amputation) the Erasure Quirk is no longer at play on the battlefield. Back to full power (well, almost), Shigaraki immediately attempts to activate his Decay again; however, Midoroya has other plans in mind.

After tirelessly training with Nana's Float before the Paranormal Liberation War was afoot, Deku is now able to combine this gravity-defying ability with his Blackwhip to lift everybody into the air. Maintaining a firm grip on his foe and depositing his allies back down below, Izuku begins to pummel Shigaraki to a pulp while Endeavor, Shoto, and Bakugo try to get a good shot in; all seems to be going well until All For One make a surprise appearance.

"When The Shadows Get Longer as the Sun Goes Down"

My Hero Academia Season 6 episode 10 review Tenya Iida and Nejire Hadou

Everyone's plans change as the severity of the situation intensifies and new orders are dished out to ensure that innocent civilians are extracted from Gigantomachia's destructive path. Not only is it dangerous to be directly in the monster's route, but due to all the excess debris flying around, all those within a 5km radius need to clear off. Ochaco, Tsu, and Koji Koda focus more intently on the evacuation plans, while Nejire Hadou is sent off with some other airborne heroes to re-establish communications with Team Endeavor and update him about Gigantomachia's swift approach.

Incapable of containing his anxiety concerning his missing classmates any longer, Tenya Iida joins the messenger team, even though he is traveling on foot and subsequently a potential victim of Decay. Machia is closing in on Shigarki but seems confused by the fact that two Masters are nearby; is he referring to the imprisoned All For One in Tartarus, and is this indicative of the next stage of the evil scheme? Furthermore, with all eyes now trained on Machia, could Dr. Ujiko find a way to slip through the Heroes' fingers amidst all the chaos?

The Clash of the Prodigies

My Hero Academia Season 6 episode 10 review Izuku Midoriya aka Deku vs Shigaraki

Meanwhile, Deku is overwhelmed with rage as the injured Bakugo is discarded by Shigaraki and calls upon Blackwhip, fueled by the extra anger even though the Fifth User, Daigoro Banjo, had warned against such a combination. Izuku now seems unaffected by the potent Rivet Stabs that just took Bakugo and Endeavor out, blocking every attack (going so far as to use his teeth the snap a lethal tendril into pieces.) Unfortunately, being overwhelmed with emotions is not conducive to logical decision-making, and the Hero lands up in Shigaraki's range, allowing the Symbol of Fear to promptly make contact, subsequently initiating the first step of the Quirk transferral process.

The Battle of the Brothers

My Hero Academia Season 6 episode 10 review All For One vs One For All

Both young men are instantaneously transported to an alternate reality of sorts (inside One For All's "mind"); however, it seems that Shigaraki has more control over the situation than Deku, who is stranded, feebly lying on the floor. However, Shigaraki has some struggles of his own, as he is still unwilling to share custody of his mind and body with All For One and refuses to be anyone's puppet. As One For All's longevity comes into question, Nana Shimura and the original user, Yoichi Shigaraki arrive to protect the helpless Hero, and the brothers come face to face again for the first time in years.

Interestingly enough, Midoriya has his mouth blacked out, rendering him speechless, while All For One has his usual "blank stare" as the top half of his head is shrouded in darkness. See no evil, speak no evil? As the Shimura family is reunited, the power-hungry troublemaker aggravates the situation with his insensitive remarks, working Shigaraki up in the process. All For One mansplains the siblings' Quirks, describing how One For All involves a transferrence of consciousness, implying that the users' souls never truly die but live on with the next generation. He goes on further to explain that he too can tap into the consciousness of those whose Quirks he has stolen, but loses touch with them the moment he passes their ability on. The miscreant can discern the original wielder's presence (and manipulate them) due to his meddlesome Quirk; however, he insinuates that his brother's abilities are just as obtrusive.

Staring into the face of his long-lost grandmother inspires another level of hatred in Shigaraki, who somehow activates his Decay within this alternate dimension. All For One is thrilled, but has clearly forgotten that the Symbol of Fear's discontent is not localized to Midoriya, as Shigaraki loathes him just as fiercely as the rest; "whoops!" He tries to demonstrate to the stubborn youngster that the pair could be unstoppable when they work together, an incentive to lure Shigarki into "sharing" control of his body. Similarly, Deku is also seething, but because he uses his anger more constructively (fueled by his protective instincts), Yoichi claims he has the upper hand over evil. Empowered by One For All's users and their unwavering faith in him, Izuku manages to break free from All For One's spell, and he and Shigaraki return to reality and appear to lose consciousness as they fall back down to earth.

Girl Fight!

My Hero Academia Season 6 episode 10 review Ochaco vs Himiko

The League of Villains are enjoying their free-ride traveling at 100km/h towards the ruins of Jaku Hospital with an ETA of ten minutes; however, Himiko has other pressing issues distracting her. She is frantically scanning the crowds streaming past her to try and find the familiar faces of her favorite UA students, as she has a bone to pick with the Heroes concerning Twice's unceremonious murder. Dabi evidently has a plan of his own in action, and Mr. Compress is concerned about whether or not everybody is on board; however, Himiko declares she needs answers before following Dabi in his scheme to destroy all heroes.

Down below, Ochaco and Tsu are rounding up the civilians when an old lady suddenly runs up to them pleading for help, as her husband is unable to move unassisted. Determined to save anyone in need, Ochaco blindly follows the suspicious crone down a dark alley while Tsu escorts the local residents to safety. It is no surprise (to viewers, anyway) when the woman sheds her skin to reveal a naked Himiko within, demanding to know what Ochaco intends to do with her. Is death in the cards for all villains who stand up against heroes? Does Jin Bubaigawara's acts of heroism not exclude him from the cold-hearted conduct of the supposed saviors of the world? Well, according to Uravity, anyone who compromises the safety of innocents deserves the full brunt of her force, and she might as well take Himiko down now while the opportunity presents itself.

Next Up: "Dabi's Dance"

My Hero Academia Season 6 episode 10 review Next Time Dabi's Dance Gigantomachia vs Team Endeavor

As the end of this epic double-edged battle draws to a close, it seems that Giganomachia's little get-together might just be the least of their worries in the greater scheme of things. Dabi can't let all the commotion dissipate without adding his own chaotic contribution to the mix with a mindblowing public announcement of his own.

At least Team Endeavor, fortunately, has some more backup (just in the nick of time!) as Iida and Nejire arrive on the scene, while Shoto Todoroki may finally get some more screen time in Season 6. Deku is clearly taking a lot of strain, as opposed to Shigaraki has found a second wind (and has suddenly regrown his locks of white hair too).
