One of the best feel-good animes currently airing is undeniably My Hero Academia, or Boku no Hero Academia. The characters are so fun-loving and adorable, the plot lines are inspiring and exciting, and it boasts both comedic and serious moments. The star of the show and wielder of All For One is none other than Izuku Midoriya, AKA Deku, and he is the main character for a reason.

Deku is inspiring and powerful while also being so innocently sweet and hilarious at the same time. His traits of being very bashful, a huge crybaby, a total fanboy, and a passionate friend make him so versatile for memes. And the My Hero Academia fandom absolutely never runs out of memes.

Updated September 25, 2021 by Jourdan Silva: As the My Hero Academia anime continues to be released alongside the ongoing manga, fans of the franchise are interacting online more than ever before. With new plotlines, characters, and villains being introduced to the fandom, more viral memes are being made and shared. Main protagonist Izuku Midoriya reigns as the star of many trending posts, and it's hilariously clear to see why. Deku has produced some of the best facial expressions in the anime, while his importance to the story means he is always right in the middle of any discussions or My Hero Academia memes.

15 Who Even Knows

There seem to be some inconsistencies with the hair color that Deku is supposed to have. Everyone knows he has green hair but when you look at it... it's black with a green outline sometimes, and kinda blue other times, and even all green other times!

Horikoshi definitely loves to color his characters in a variety of ways, and the creativity is loved and appreciated, but sometimes it just makes fans very confused. Is it green??

14 Low Quality Deku is Best Deku

Just look at him. He's beautiful. When animating a show, it's difficult to put every detail and effort into each tiny character for every scene. Animators will take little shortcuts and make blurry, undefined, or blobby outlines of characters to save time and it's hilarious.

These kinds of shots are what fans have dubbed "low quality" versions of characters and they are spread as memes all the time. As long as they don't detract too much from someone's enjoyment of the show, these moments are easy to laugh at.

13 Father Face Reveal

There's clearly only one explanation for how Izuku got his spiky, tall hair and it's because of his incredibly handsome father. This hilarious mashup of My Hero Academia and Cowboy Bebop is too cute not to leave a like on.

However, Izuku being fatherless throughout his childhood would signfiy that Spike left him at a young age to travel among the stars as a space cowboy.

12 Give Him a Break

If someone is caught up with the manga, they know how rough Izuku has been feeling lately with the onslaught of villains, and this meme completely sums it up. The boy just needs a break.

Taking on the role of the Beacon of Hope has its hardships, and being the main punching bag for so many villains has got to be exhausting. Deku is strong and resilient, but there is only so much a person can take before they start to feel a touch overwhelmed.

11 Coming Soon

The two previous My Hero Academia movies were beyond thrilling, featuring recurring and new characters with exciting plots and insane twists. As the third movie hits theaters overseas, fans in other countries across the globe are itching for their chance to see the spectacular film themselves.

Don't cry, the movie will be out soon! And if the last two films are anything to go by, My Hero Academia: World Heroes' Mission should be worth the wait.

10 The Three Besties

Three of the happiest anime characters from giant anime/manga fanbases would absolutely become best friends. Deku, Tanjiro, and Hinata are all super cheery, bright, and uplifting characters who overcome their hurdles to protect and boost the morale of others.

Put these three boys in a room and they'd never stop talking about their greatest passions. They also all happen to be a bit shorter than average, making the main characters much more likely to stick together and defend each other.

9 Trade Offer

You may have seen this new meme across social media lately. It originated from Tiktok after a long-haired user in a business suit posted a very meme-able template that has been altered a thousand times over. The viral Trade Offer meme has unsurprisingly made it's way into the My Hero Academia fandom, and the results are not disappointing. Deku, in exchange for getting a hair from All Might that would trade his infamous One For All quirk to the teen, would become a critical person in All Might's life. Therefore, in exchange for a hair, he would get a brand new son.

8 Spiderman Stand-off

A very iconic moment happened at an anime expo where the Japanese and English voice actors for Deku got to meet. They must have had a great time hearing their own character's voice speaking in another language! The famous dual Spiderman meme works wonders in this situation, since both men are technically Deku, making them the ultimate doppelgängers. The only thing that would make the special occasion better would be if they joined together to scream "Detroit Smash!" in their own native languages. If the VAs for All Might were there as well, that would be even better!

7 Explain The Plot Without Spoilers

For those who are caught up with the manga, readers have seen some pretty messed up stuff lately. This hilarious frame fully captures exactly how everyone was feeling when chapter 306 came out. It's also ironic to note how vastly different each weekly episode of the anime is compared to the weekly updates of the manga.

Fans of MHA are hopping from a super fun, light-hearted, typical high school story to a much more grim, dark, and unnerving plot in the manga. Anime-only's, prepare yourself for what is coming!

6 The Only Glow-Up

It's nearly unbearable to rewatch the first season and see Deku wearing his embarrassing first hero costume. The bunny ears and face mask are too cheesy to take him seriously. As each season and story arc goes on, his hero costume is evolved to make him control his power better, and thankfully, each upgrade makes him look even cooler.

Izuku's classic red sneakers upgraded to sleek, black, metal boots that add so much power to his kicks, while also totally boosting his charm. If there's one thing Deku needs to thank the costume department for, it's for making his appearance so much better each time he asks for a new repair or addition to his gear.

5 ...Her Tongue!

Tsuyu is fantastic at activating her frog quirk to take out her enemies or save those in peril, using her long, strong tongue to wrap around her target. In the latest season of MHA, a student from Class B is wrapped up in her grip and is totally captivated by it. Deku has definitely been there, done that. He and Froppy have worked and trained together many times already, so the green-haired hero knows how it feels to be grabbed by her powerful tongue.

4 No Context

Deku's narration over the story adds so much to My Hero Academia. We can see things through his eyes and get a deeper sense of how he's feeling about each situation. However, sometimes the things he says are hilarious when taken out of context. This single panel from the manga proves that with Deku calmly stating how he and his friends handed Bakugo to the police.

Without knowing what happened or what's going on, it looks like the students were turning in their classmate to be arrested by authorities. Of course, Bakugo was just being protected by the police while they got information about the villains from him, but this single panel doesn't reveal that. Deku would never turn in his childhood rival, but this frame humorously looks otherwise.

3 Same Energy

Deku stans all agree that he is pretty much the cutest and most precious hero in Class 1A. Deku is so innocent and sweet and is too uplifting and inspiring for his own good. He always looks like a deer caught in the headlights, with his wide eyes and confused faces. In this screenshot from the anime, he looks so small and adorable, so someone on Twitter compared him to a photo of a cute baby raccoon sitting on the side of the road. The resemblance is uncanny!

2 Bed Head

A hilarious sketch from My Hero's mangaka shows Deku with an awful case of bed head and eye bags. His big, green curls are always so plush and fluffy, but in the mornings they seem to be a lot fuller and twice the size of his face. This isn't that surprising considering Deku literally had an afro for an entire chapter of the manga.

His wild hairdo is definitely accurate for people with curly hair, especially just after waking up. And those eye bags? Absolutely relatable. Poor guy needs a break.

1 Classic Deku

There are multiple accounts on Twitter that create scenarios of what they think the My Hero characters would act like when they're not being big heroes stirred up in major plot lines. The students are 15 to 16 years old, so they would all definitely be goofy, obnoxious, childish, corny, and sometimes straight-up oblivious. It's canon that Deku doesn't have much experience talking to girls, so this interaction would 100% happen.

You have to be very straightforward and clear when talking about your feelings to Izuku or he might just whip out a drawing of some dragons.
