What MX vs. ATV Legends Brings To The Table

MX vs. ATV Legends Gameplay

The MX vs. ATV franchise has thrived on giving players exactly what its name promises, high-speed races with a suite of motocross bikes and quads for players to choose from. Legends won't just be recycling the same formula, however, as it promises all kinds of new features to make players really feel like a professional racer. As players carve their way through competitions, there will be various player choice opportunities where they can pick up sponsorships and go to special invitational events. When combined with the new Trails mode that provides all new experiences through nature, Legends should have enough to keep fans interested.

How MX vs. ATV Legends Fits In With Descenders, Riders Republic

MX vs. ATV Legends Gameplay 1

Extreme sports games have come a very long way since the first MX vs. ATV game released. The genre has taken strong swings in creating experiences that focus on either arcade gameplay or simulation, giving gamers a lot of options. When it comes to games like Descenders and Riders Republic, the former has been largely likened to a game like Skate, while the latter has been compared to Tony Hawk's Pro Skater. The core of their gameplay is around very similar concepts, but they portray them in such different ways through gameplay that they manage to be completely unique.

MX vs. ATV Legends looks to be a good middle ground when compared to these titles. The franchise does employ relatively realistic physics and gameplay mechanics like Descenders, but it's never been to the point where it becomes part of the core experience. Likewise, MX vs. ATV has always been about going off of huge jumps and performing incredible tricks, but not quite to the colorful extent that Riders Republic does. It instead gives players a little bit of realism with a healthy dose of fun to make a racing experience that has something for everyone.

The sports genre has always provided a wide range of experiences for just about any gamer, and MX vs. ATV: Legends looks to give extreme sports fans yet another game to pick up. The franchise has certainly established itself as one of the premiere places to go for intense racing action, and between all of the other sports games on the market, MX vs. ATV: Legends looks like it should be in good company when it releases.

MX vs. ATV: Legends is currently in development for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
