Since the very first fighting games released, there have been exploits to take advantage of in order to gain an advantage and that's no different with MultiVersus. Several MultiVersus fans have noticed an exploit that gives players using Jake and Velma an unfair advantage.

MultiVersus is a brawler like Super Smash Bros. that brings characters from different Warner Bros. universes like Jake the dog from Adventure Time and Velma from Scooby-Doo. Reddit user FussyOnFire recently posted a clip from their PvP experience of MultiVersus in which a duo of Velma and Jake highlights the unfair advantage that the two characters can exploit. There is no current end date to the MultiVersus beta which may bode well for exploits like the Jake and Velma one being fixed ahead of or just in time for the official launch.

FussyOnFire's MultiVersus clip begins with a 2v2 match on Scooby's Haunted Mansion initiating and quickly turning questionable as Velma uses "Spread the Knowledge" and Jake transforms into a car with his "That's Heavy, Dude" special. Velma goes through the vehicle Jake, turns to face the LeBron James and Wonder Woman MultiVersus duo, and unleashes a wave of speech bubbles by spamming the side attack thanks to her initial move's reduced cooldown benefits. This combination of attacks ensures that Jake and Velma keep the enemy LeBron James and Wonder Woman at bay, damaging both of them should they approach and potentially locking the fight in a loop.

There are a handful of defenses for this particular exploit such as the LeBron James special move in MultiVersus that uses his basketball as a projectile or Wonder Woman's side special, Warrior's Charge. Wonder Woman's down special also temporarily protects the two characters which would allow them to close the gap on the two exploiters if FussyOnFire's video were of a fight rather than a showcase for the unfair advantage. Some other MultiVersus characters that may be able to stop the combo of Jake and Velma from going too far are Superman, Tom and Jerry, or Batman.

Although many MultiVersus fans have stated that this Velma and Jake exploit ought to be fixed in the next update, it's currently unclear when players can expect to see the one-sided technique removed from the game. Like others have used mods to put Link in MultiVersus, one fan noted that the LeBron James in FussyOnFire's clip is using one that makes him appear like Marvel's Venom to the person using it while continuing to resemble James to their opponent.

MultiVersus is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
