MultiVersus Season 1 is almost here. Tomorrow, MultiVersus will go ahead and launch its biggest update yet. The update will include the first full MultiVersus battle pass, with Morty and then Rick to follow later in the season. But developer Player First Games has some surprises in store for MultiVersus players, too.

MultiVersus game director Tony Huynh shared some news with players looking forward to Season 1 on Twitter this Sunday. He says that as part of the Season 1 update on Monday, a new login screen will be shown. Players will likely be familiar with the current MultiVersus loading screen, which features a cloud from which pieces of each launch character stick out. Bugs Bunny's ears, Wonder Woman's shield, Shaggy's hand and sandwich, and Jake the Dog's stretchy arm are just a few examples. This art was, at one point, used to tease MultiVersus' initial roster.

Needless to say, the idea of a new loading screen should convey what kind of surprise is in store for MultiVersus players. Huynh goes ahead and confirms it, anyway. He says that the new loading screen will offer up a "look at some future unannounced characters." There will assumedly be a new cloud denoting a fight with different characters' arms, legs, and weapons sticking out, or perhaps Player First Games will go in a different but similar direction.

Another confirmation from Huynh is that these character reveals aren't just planned to eventually launch in MultiVersus, but will arrive specifically during MultiVersus Season 1. That means Player First is planning to release not only Rick and Morty in Season 1, but also multiple other characters. That could be as few as two other characters, or it could mean more. Either way, as many as four new characters including Rick and Morty should be very exciting to MultiVersus players.

While Huynh didn't confirm any of the new characters, a tweet from earlier today may offer a clue. Huynh's earlier Twitter post asked MultiVersus players, "Who likes bows and arrows?" This could refer to Legolas from The Lord of the Rings, going off past MultiVersus leaks. As such, fans should not be surprised to see a bow in tomorrow's new loading screen.

It's an exciting week for MultiVersus fans in more ways than one. On Monday, Season 1 of MultiVersus begins, followed by a second patch on Wednesday. Morty will then arrive on August 23, expanding the MultiVersus roster with a character from yet another new series. Clearly, there is a lot to look forward to this Season beyond what has already been announced.

MultiVersus is available now in Open Beta on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
