As a fighting game with competitive play available to users, MultiVersus players are looking to see which characters are currently dominating the meta. While the open beta for MultiVersus hasn't been out for too long, this hasn't stopped fans from discovering which fighters are overpowered and which characters could do with a buff. Usually, gamers are more concerned with the former in any competitive game, as the abuse of an overpowered character can often make fighting against them feel futile.

Already, MultiVersus players have figured out some of the more overpowered characters currently available in the game. Bugs Bunny, for example, was noted as having attacks that feel more like a Bruiser, dealing unfair amounts of damage in quick succession. The developers have promised a nerf to Bugs Bunny in MultiVersus in a future update, and so now fans are looking to the next character that needs a nerf and have zeroed in on Finn the Human.

Adventure Time's Finn didn't seem that strong at the beginning of MultiVersus. Perhaps this was because fans were too busy dealing with Taz's obnoxious Tornado in the alpha and closed beta. However, now that a lot of the more obviously overpowered moves have been nerfed in MultiVersus, Finn has risen to the top of the list of the fan base's most hated characters. Players have labeled the adventuring hero as simply "broken" due to his spammable move set and ability to out-trade a lot of enemy counters.

It seems that Finn's bag attack is where a lot of people point their criticism online. One MultiVersus fan on Reddit stated that Finn's hit boxes are the "size of Texas," referring to the fact that it appears the backpack spin can hit a player from anywhere and can be spammed pretty easily. While many are stating that these factors should result in a nerf to Finn, some find that the Adventure Time character isn't that overpowered. Instead, they believe that Finn is only capable of easily defeating bad players due to his ability to punish them quickly for mistimed moves.

This mentality of simply telling players to get better at a game if they don't like a certain character has existed for a long time within the fighting game community, especially with platform fighters like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. However, it is up to the developers at the end of the day, and if they believe Finn is worthy of a nerf, there might be some more changes coming to the MultiVersus meta soon. Already, following EVO 2022, the game is likely to see some big alterations with the aforementioned nerf to Bugs Bunny, which will be joined by a buff for Wonder Woman in MultiVersus.

MultiVersus is available in Open Beta now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
