Like other platform fighters such as Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Nickolodeon All-Star Brawl, MultiVersus has a roster with plenty of crossover potential. Combining characters from all of Warner Bros' IPs, MultiVersus already has a wacky roster so far, even with only 16 being available so far. However, with so many potential fighters that could be added to MultiVersus, fans are often speculating on what new characters will be brought to the game next.

When MultiVersus entered its closed alpha, some dataminers had already managed to find out which fighters would be coming next from the game files. When LeBron James, one of the leaked characters, was recently announced for MultiVersus and made playable, it seemed to confirm that other fighters from the same leak would eventually be coming to the game as well. Both Rick and Morty from Rick and Morty are supposedly making an appearance next, and with the introduction of a stage based on the show, it seems all but confirmed that they will be playable soon.

For some MultiVersus players, it seems Rick may already be playable, as one Reddit user managed to screenshot the moment their opponent selected Rick as their fighter. Not only had they managed to get a hold of a character not yet officially released, but they had also managed to equip a Pickle Rick skin. It was expected that the iconic Pickle Rick skin would make its way to MultiVersus, but apart from the confirmation that the skin and character exist somewhere in the games files, the leak from user BluesArrived on Reddit doesn't give information on how Rick will play.

According to the comments under BluesArrived's post, it seems that seeing a character not yet released in MultiVersus isn't as uncommon as one might think. With the game now being in open beta, plenty of players have access to MultiVersus' files, meaning that because Rick has been in the game since the closed beta, he is technically accessible to anyone with the MultiVersus client. While this likely means Rick and Morty will release soon, just because they are being found in MultiVersus' matchmaking does not mean they yet have the polish on their animations, moves, and voice lines to consider them fully playable.

Currently, it seems best for fans not to access Rick before he is fully finished because, while the character appears near completion, a proper release will feature the fighter as intended by the developers. Alongside the addition of Rick and Morty, more characters have been reportedly revealed via leaks from MultiVersus' files, including the Hound from Game of Thrones and Raven from Teen Titans.

MultiVersus is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
