While Black Adam still hasn't made his MultiVersus debut, players have been sharing their own guesses about the game character, including a hilarious alternate skin suggestion shared with MultiVersus fans recently. The post brought together fans of MultiVersus, Black Adam, and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, who want to see it actually happen.
MultiVersus is a free-to-play crossover fighting game featuring characters from Warner Bros., Cartoon Network, and DC Comics, among others. Back in August, developer Player First Games confirmed that Black Adam would be coming to MultiVersus Season 1. However, there haven't been any updates on the character's release, nor hints of what he will look like in-game.
Since the character isn't out yet, the possible skin line is also unknown, which prompted Redditor TheRealCowboyLebron to "leak" The Rock's iconic turtleneck look as Black Adam's launch skin as a joke. The actor and former wrestler first shared the throwback photo in 2014, showing him in the '90s wearing a black turtleneck tucked in jeans, accessorized with a gold chain around his neck and a fanny pack. It has since taken the internet by storm through memes, and people started copying the look for costume parties. Even Ben Schwartz, the voice of Sonic in the movies, said he wanted Sonic to look like The Rock throughout the film.
While this was meant to be a silly post on Reddit, fans in the comments seem to be all in on the idea of immortalizing The Rock's look in the game. Some noted that this could easily be a legendary skin that they're willing to shell out Gleamium for. While others predict that the alternate Black Adam skin would look like The Rock's bald character in the film. But considering that MultiVersus is known for releasing creative skins across their roster, including the recent MultiVersus Halloween skins, it wouldn't be surprising for players if Player First Games will offer multiple options for Black Adam too.
Based on MultiVersus' recent updates, it's been releasing new characters almost every patch, especially if it's tied to a certain occasion. For Patch 1.04, Stripe from Gremlins was released as part of the Halloween update. This brings some to speculate that Black Adam may be coming soon to coincide with the Black Adam movie premiere.
There's still no confirmation from Player First Games yet, but players are keeping a close eye on the next patch update. For now, they can experience Black Adam on the big screen to see how the new comic-to-movie superhero fits in the DCEU.
